hey there people.

i'm very keen on this car that is an RB20DE. And he said a budget of $2000 or so should get it turboed. THis is all affordable etc however a lot of mates have told me there are lots of risks such as the engine isnt strong enough to run with the turbo. and also that other things like brakes etc need attention.

can anyone agree with this or can anyone offer help on this topic. i want to know if anyone has done it and how their car has been since.

much appreciated

Jamie

It would be better to do an engine swap rather than turbo-charging the NA imo.

I know with an R33 te compression doesn't allow you to boost more than 6psi. If you do the engine goes Bang. Would't cost much more than 2500 to do an enitire engine swap i reckon.

hey mate,

in reality its much better just starting off with the gtst, even though the particular car your looking at might be a good deal. For the extra couple of grand you'll get a real gtst, that has the better setup from day dot and when it comes to the point of selling it you'll get a better resale value for it.

Unless your really good with your tools and can get parts really cheap its honestly not worth your while, but its upto you.
