Resprays

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has had a genral respray... i.e. same colour and just cleaned the whole car up?

Im in Melb and have been quoted anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000+ for a same colour spray.

I have a black 32 and wouldnt mind going to a midnight purple or something like that.

Any ideas on cost or if anyone on the forums paints as a hobby...

You usually get what you pay for. Did you want EVERYTHING resprayed (engine bay, inside of boot, etc) or just the 'outside'?

for price info the best way is to do what u have already done. keep asking around paint/panel shops, everywhere will be different.

im getting my car re-sprayed over summer but doing all the disassemble-assemble work myself so the panel shop just needs to rub the car back and spray. ill be masking it up myself to.

the most expensive part of re-spraying a car is the labor. it takes time to prep the car which is what ill be doing and the spray part of the job, that includes repairing 2 areas and rubbing the whole car back, is only costing me about 1200.

Wow 1200 is good. How long has it taken you to prep the car?

I have a friend who I can do the prep work with as he used to be a painter sadly he has no connections left

Maybe I should do it that way...

I'm not wanting the engine bay to be sprayed as the colour will be the same if not very similar so no real gain there.
