The only big name workshop that i know of in Nagoya is Ricoh Racing although i no longer have their address. As far as parts shops go, you can't go past Autobacs I don't know of the exact address of any of the stores in Nagoya but i did see one just before Nagoya station on the shinkansen from Tokyo, maybe 1km or so. They may also have a Super Autobacs if you are lucky which is basically a larger version, both Chiba and Yokahama do and they are an awesome store to visit.

Another thing that you might want to consider while in Nagoya is a visit to the Toyota museum, it is only something like 500yen to enter and is great, Toyota don't descriminate and have awesome cars from all manufacturers there, millions and millions of dollars worth. Some of the cool nissans there are the original 1966 silvia, original prince skyline, some awesome 60's super car that looks kinda like a GT40. They don't have an original GTR there although Toyota do have one in their Mega Web show room at Odiba in Tokyo. It is about 40 mins from Nagoya station, you will need to catch 1 train 14 stops and then a monorail (limino line) for about 5 stops. Toyota also have free factory tours with and english speaking tour guide at their factory in Nagoya if that interests you.

Are you only going to Nagoya? Nagoya had the most normal people in Japan that i came across! they actually talked to each other on trains and dressed differently to each other :O

You meant Tokyo Station hey.

Sorry, reading back on that, i actually wrote it quite badly. Basically Toyota have a massive show room (biggest show room in the world) in Odiba in Tokyo which is well worth a look if you go to Tokyo, espeically the history garage which has an original GTR, 240z, 2000GT, GT4 WRC Celica complete with rally damage, 4wd 3sgte wrc corolla & heaps more. But what you want is the toyota museum in Nagoya.

It is roughly 40 mins from Nagoya Station, you will need to catch a subway line to fujigaoka, its 14 stops from memory, i can't remember the line name though. at the 14th (and last stop) you need to get on a monorail called the limino line (might be spelt lamino line) and go for roughly 5 stops, the little voice will say toyota museum. The Toyota museum was probably one of the best car related things that i've been to in Japan, its up there with the Tokyo Motorshow!

Awesome i'd be keen as for a look at the toyota factory and the museum, thanks for that :worship:.

Wont be sticking to just nagoya though basically a mate and I have a container to fill and big turbo diesel van to drive around so well be going as far as we can and to as many parts places junk yards etc should be fun im looking forward to it :(

So if anyone knows of places not only in nagoya that would be cool :D

cheers

ben

haha that sounds awesome mate :( there should be a few junk yards around nagoya, its very much an industrial area. I only had a day trip there so didn't get to look around too much. In and around tokyo i got the impression that there are very few wrecking yards, i asked at both the super autobacs stores and they didn't know what i was talking about, at the Chiba one there is an Aussie bloke who works there, he just refered me to yahoo.co.jp, he did tell us where and when to find the illegal street drifters though :worship:

I came across a junk yard website that i have a feeling was based in Nagoya (might be closer to osaka) a while back, basically they pick you up from kansai airport, give you free accomodation, you fill the container and then they take you back, the junk yard looked massive. i'll see if i can find the webpage tonight!

There is a masive junk yard in the southern most region (can't think of name) called taku forklift. The HPI guys went there. it is aimed at drifters so there are hundred of drift style cars being wrecked. probably a little far away for you though.

Taku forklift!!!!!!!!1 thats the one i was trying to remember from HPI Yew cheers!! haha now I just gotta work out where it is and how many days we will need there buy stuff and back!! any ideas on where abouts it is??? :P;)

well looking on a map i'd say a damn long way, maybe 1000kms?? it is somewhere in KYUSHU but the DVD doesn't say where. kinda like saying a shop is somewhere in NSW :w00t:

has google given you any hints? personally i'd just get to nagoya, learn some basic japanese or take a phrase book becasue people will be much more helpful if you put in the effort. Ask the hotel people to look in the phone book or go to somewhere like ricoh racing or autobacs, they should beable to give you some leads.
