Hi all, well as the topic title and description states.........Whats the deal with an oil breather. I was searching ebay (just now actully) and have come across a few of them for abou $20 and was wondering if they would be of any benifit to me and my R33. If anyone has any info on them that would be awesome. And if anyone has a pic or two they would like to share that would be great too.

Kind regards, Evan

oil breather??

you mean an oil catch can?

Nuh, have a look at the following link, this might help ya see what i mean. I think they would look mint under the bonnet in full view to match my Hurricaine Pod Air Filter but will they be of any benifit....thats the real question????

Kind regards, Evan

PS) Sorry guys and girls links are not working so i got rid of them. Just go to ebay australia and search for oil breathers, there is only a few of them and they generally come in red or silver.

ohh ok, if you go putting it onto the oil breather pipe, you will be letting unmetered (by air flow meter) air to enter engine and it will run lean and stall at idle.

also it illegal and you will end up with oil shooting everywhere under the hood, once the filter is saturated.

you could use one on top of a catch can, once you bypass the PCV system, but its still illegal.

Ahhhh i see, thanks RB30 Power for the info, well that was a short lasting idea i had!!! Thought i could make the engine bay lok a little more agressive, haha!! In the end sounds like a stupid idea really!

Kind regards, Evan

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
