Recommended Posts

O.K guys i need some help and opinions as i am in the market for buying a R32 92-93 skyline gtst on p plates and in a middle of a big decision i think. Here are the 2 cars that currently in my preferences but in abit of a pickle:

o.k now i just need your opinions would you guys even think about buying a car like the burgundy one which was a stolen and recovered? i am currently thinking about buying it as it has everything i want and more in it but just the history of the car throws me off and also doing the viv but another thing is that its just here in deer park. the one in echuca isn't far from my reach and i don't mind the drive but its just more hassle plus its a stocker where on the ex stolen one there are coilovers and wheels and m spec bodykit. i'm looking for a car that i can drive and not go around and say i still want to do suspension and exhaust and so which will cost me more money. Also budget is a big deal for me also.

anyone had any experience with this? please share guys. you know how hard it is to find a good 32 around here nowadays.

thanks guys

+1 for the white car

Getting VIV sorted out just sounds like a pain in the ass. White 32s look great, and what better fun than to have a 3-hour drive as soon as you take delivery?

Also - get used to the car in its standard form, and then get the suspension upgraded how YOU want it. Just having coilovers doesn't make it good.

Oh, and if you got for the white car promise me you'll BURN that checkerplate floor mat.

the only thing the white one is missing from a Type-M bodykit is the rear pods where the mudguards are. You can pick them up for $60 a pair~

white r32 seller also states 7psi boost, when in fact the factory boost level is 10psi. The gauge on the dash shows +-7 (cant remember but its a different unit to PSI).

In regards to suspension, plenty of people sell 2nd hand shocks/spring combo's on SAU for around the $300 mark~ if you are on a budget.

My advise, take your time in searching for your R32. Dont rush into any buys thinking its the best choice. Plenty of lemons out there and there will always be another one for sale the next day/week

good luck ;)

ahahaha yeh those floor mats are wack!! don't understand why 32 vents disapear all the time?...so you guys don't recommend the burgundy one at all? i actually test drove it today and went awesome...nice and tight...the owner also is a cold start technician for holden so i'm kinda thinking he knows his stuff?

Option 1 for sure.

Just ask yourself: If the 2nd car (burgundy) has the following comment: "Unregistered Vehicle needs VIV to be put on road. Car in very good condition no work needed." why doesn't he just get the VIV himself and sell it for more $$$'s.

Answer: There is more to than meets the eye and is probably not worth the hassle.

Also

I believe: For a car to require a VIV cert. some MAJOR structural damage must have occurred. Removing interior does not justify a "statutory write-off". Someone may know a little more about this, than myself, but i have a feeling that car was written off and repaired.

i read up on what a VIV inspection is because i had no idea what it was and read that its needed for cars that are repairable writeoffs and also stolen cars. correct me if i'm wrong but i read that up on the vicroads site. costs $440 and must book in advanced

VIV's can also be required if the numbers on the car was forged at one point etc and its identity needs to be thoroughly checked. doesn't have to be crashed to need a VIV.

hasn't that sold yet! :w00t:

man at 9g that's a good buy... I really want to swap all my running gear over into a 32... hmmm

oh and just say no to white cars;)

Hhahahahahaa funniest line ever!

"or just harden the f**k up and deal with the fact that R32's and vents were never meant to happen."

Anywhos Vote 1 more for the White one!

Way better off and plus the drive home :action-smiley-069: Too much hassle with the stolen one. Just because its close doesnt make ot better...

white one, it has a full M-spec bodykit, apart from the rear caps as pointed out above, the spotlight front bumpers are on most Mspecs, look out for the 4-pot front and 2-pot rear brakes which will confirm it is an mspec, whcih most GTS-ts are, well all the ones I've had in the past anyway

as having owned 5 skylines in the past, that red one looks like trouble....

being an ex stolen car

$8k for an unrego'd or warranted car, he could've rego'd it and warranted it if there was nothign wrong and put the price up....

it just doesn't make sense, the mags are ugly and won't sell for as high as a set of stock R32 wheels, if the interior was replaced, the KMs might not be genuine on the speedo either

Or Big boys black one, although the kms are high, hopefully it's been looked after, or you could RB30 it or RB25 it if the engine blows :D
