hey guys im sorta thinking of buying a 1971 skyline gtx coupe off of jspec.com, does anyone know if they have any go for an old n/a engine

most likely will be a L24 with tripple SU carbs.... good combo but needs re-tune every now and then....

does the engine or parts on the car play up alot and need alot of work done all the time?

Good cars the old skylines and readily available in Japan. The engines are L20's or S20's on the GTR's. L20's put out about 120hp and the S20's put out 160hp. The L24's mentioned above I think were only for Australia and export, they were never sold in Japan. A lot of Skylines these days have the L28 (162hp) engine taken from the Fairlady Z now because they are stronger than the L20's

Although great cars they may be hard to look after here in Australia because of the lack of available parts.

Thats a pretty nice car! its running a L20 (2L SOHC 12V) with triple sidedraft carbs and at a guess it would go very well for what it is, also it would sound absolutly amazing with those carbs on! drivetrain parts should be easy enough to find as there are a few other nissans that use the same parts but body parts would not be so easy to find. L28's are no stronger really they are just bigger and have more power and torque

there are at least 2 of those already in the country, as soon as they are road rego'd add $10,000 to the price you paid, easy money...

pay there fee and they will find you what you want, very good service
