Hi, thinking of getting an R34 SMIC as a cheap upgrade on the R33 to let me run a bit more boost while keeping the stock look and still allowing full air flow to the radiator, just wondering though how much bigger it actually is and if it is worth it. Anyone who's done this swap got any comments on it or instructions on how to install it, just a case of bolting straight up where the stock R33 one is? And more importantly, any pics comparing the size/width of the coolers?

its a good cheap upgrade. If you can get it under $200 its bargain. try and get the plastic shroud that comes with it if you can. you may find that the inner wheel lining wont bold up properly underneith because of the bigger size but its no big deal.

I managed to pick my R34 SMIC for $50NZD, it wasnt immaculate condition like i wanted, but worth a try, and its worked well.

The inner guard is stretched a little making the bottom a bit tight to bolt back together. I had my clip fail and the inner guard popped off and shredded/burnt/ripped itself to pieces on the tyre :)

Still yet to replace it too!

I've got the same thing happening to me right now! the inner plastic thing hangs low and always scrapes on the ground while the upper part rubs against the tyre. already pretty damaged on both ends. Do we really need those plastics? any harm in removing them?

as for the cooler itself, perfect. I run 10 pounds and i get no heat soak. I dont have the air guides either, but the s2 front bar has an opening right in front of the cooler.

I really dont think it matters a great deal, been running around for ages now without it. Might just get the odd stone flicking up into it i guess.

My front bumper is slightly different from most if seen, its a optional 40th Annaversary, the inlet for the cooler isnt as big as your runo of the mill R33  But it does the trick i guess.

Its just that black piece by the indicator, its all slotted like a vent. And thats it :(

Does anyone on here have one like this? This is the 1st iv seen!
