Annoying Noise On Idle

when my car is at idle it makes this very annoying ticking sound. its not overly loud but definatly noticable.

a few different mechanics have listened under bonnet and all said it was different things.

one seemed to think it was the idler and i needed new timing belt kit.

one seemed to think it was a noisey waterpump, powersteer pump or alternator bearing

and one seems to think its a noisey injector pulse or tapets

my car is a s1 33 by the way and any help would be great... i dont wont to just start replacing all these parts to find it the last one i get too.

please help

Try getting a long screwdriver and place it on certin areas like the back of the alternator

and listen its old school but works thats how i found the noise on mine bearings in the back

of alternator hope it helps.
