R34 Dash Led Installation

Hey guys,

Does anyone have a guide on how to replace Dash Lights for an R34?

and also for the A/C display?

I tried searching and I couldnt find one for R34's.

Has any1 done this and has a guide?

cant help u with a guide but mate of mine has done it, pretty basic stuff. from memory the dash surround (round the cd player air con etc) was just held in by clips. theres a screw behind the ashtray, and you unscrew the gearknob the pull the bit around it straight up, think theree MIGHT be a couple of screws holdin this down (might need dash surround out first to allow you to pull it up)

the actal dash itself is a lil bit complicated to get out, cant remember where the screws etc are, but drop your steering wheel right down and sorta flip it forward towards you, although you dont need to pull it right out to get at the LED's

Im assuming that you wanted to change the instrument cluster lights. Very simple job and it will only take around 20min. It involves taking off your whole instrument cluster to do so. Also taking off your steering wheel as well.

1) Take off the steering wheel

2) There should be a screw on top of the dashboard. Undo that and there should be 2 clips at the bottom. Take that whole piece off.

3) The instrument cluster is now exposed. There should be a screw on top and 2 on the bottom. Undo those and carefully take off the whole instrument cluster piece.

4) At the back there should be 3 harnesses plugged in. Undo those and take it out.

5) Flip the cluster around, and you should see plastic sockets sticking out. These contain the light bulbs. Change it and put it all back together.

and there your cluster will have a new colour...

I posted a guide in 666dan's led sale thread. But basically what gman said. although i didn't have to take off the steering wheel, it slid out from the side.

yeah definately do NOT have to take the wheel off, and i wouldnt bother especially with airbag etc
