this would be my path i would take if you plan to have 200rwkw.

aftermarket ecu. Power fc are one of the most reputable ecus around.

some people have made it to 200rwkw on the standard turbo, but with being a bush bearing with ceramic wheel i wouldn't risk it.

limit on the standard turbo is about 12psi.

Also i would consider updating your injectors as they will get close to running on max duty cycle and also your air flow metre

Turbo- pretty much the best option and to retain standard manifold and not resorting to an externally wastegated turbo would be a GCG highflow turbo being ball bearing and having steel wheels, you can push the boost up to a greater limit then ya standard turbo and will easily hit 200rwkw.

GCG highflows are capable of seeing 260rwkw.

So my opinion if i was in your shoes i would look into

ECU

Split dump - less restriction

injectors

AFM

Highflow turbo

And then possibly blow off valve for better control and no leak.

there you will have 200rwkw and also and then some if you wanted.

sweet, cheers mate that helps me out so much!could i get away with using the neo safc instead on the ecu?

sup guys have another question. u can see on my graph on previous posts that my car runs really rich. runs a 10:1. RICH.

it was on 10psi. so wondering if i boosted it up to 14psi, would this help lean it out a bit.

cheers.

btw, stock ecu and mgt

i think u'll need a new turbo if u wonna run 14psi as the stock one will crumble. :P

I have higlighted the parts of this post which are utter rubbish.

turbo is ball bearing.

limit of the turbo is not calculated on a "boost" number.

injectors and afm is not out of their range before the turbo is so 200rwkw is within their reach without maxing out either.

Hilfow turbo is not required for a safe 200rwkw

Stock BOV is perfectly fine for alot more power than the stock or hiflow turbo can flow.

No. increasing the boost on a skyline makes the tune go even richer.

In R33 skylines, you won't be able to run much more than 10 psi without running in to R&R issues... (which will feel like a boost cut.. or you'll get misfire issues around 4500rpm .. plenty of threads on this issue)

the dip in some peoples dyno graphs on R33 skylines is very common with stock ECU..

search for that to find more details.

i was just going on what happened to me

my airflow metre was close maxing out at 220rwkw which isnt too far away from 200rwkw

and my injectors wer close to 90% duty cycle.

even my 555cc injectors are at 60% when on 240rwkw

Also was going from what other people have stated with the standard turbo that 12 psi was a safe limit on them

but hey whack it up to 18psi and see how it goes, i have never tried it, and never will.

And my utterly rubbish that i posted, was my opinion, people can take it onboard or have the choice of not to.

You didn't mention the words "IMO or in my opinion" anywhere in your post.

you posted "facts" according to you.

200rwkw to 220rwkw is a big difference.

stock injectors = 370cc

Calculation is

(injector size(cc) / 10.6) x 2 = horsepower per injector

convert to kilowatts: divide by 1.34

multiply by number of injectors

(370/10.6) x 2 = 69.8

69.8/1.34 = 52

52 x 6 = 312kw

lose 40-50kw to the wheels = 260 - 270rwkw at 100% duty cycle.

take 20% off for good measure

218rwkw @ 80% duty cycle

your injectors using the above and your said 60%

= 230 - 240rwkw (using 40-50kw loss to the wheels.)

So much hearsay and conjecture. IMO don't upgrade until you max it out.

For instance, my RB30 instantly maxxed out the RB20 afm and constantly ran in R&R as soon as it saw any boost with more than 10% throttle or over 3000rpm. Maxxed out at 183rwkw.. also, the exhaust side of the 25 turbo maxxed out (can't physically flow the exhaust gasses coming out of the 30). Have since had the stock ecu remapped along with 550cc injectors and a z32 afm installed.. still have to live with the turbo falling over about 5800rpm till after xmas :P

Do the upgrades slowly, as and when you need them - this will also help if you come across any issues (too many changes at once makes it harder to diagnose problems).

The only thing I suggest going full hog on straight away is, if you know you're going to end up with a bigass turbo, bigger injectors, afm etc down the track, then don't waste money on a simple piggy back to start with. Just get a full ecu and go from there.

If i changed the ecu to say a powerfc would the car still run with the right emissions?

  • 3 weeks later...

your running stock everything basically, why spend money on an emanage when you could use any old manual bleed valve to do the same thing... geez your only gonna run 12psi max and even then your still runnin stock ecu...

listen to GTST & bubba... lots of others on this forum will tell you the same... the ones that don't simply don't have experience or have been misinformed...

200rwkw should be almost achievable if you get zorst air intake a PFC and get a good tune, and take care of you vehicle...
