is it ok to just run your normal street rims and tyres or do you have a second set of rims and tyres for the track?

just starting out - use street tyres.

You learn your limits and control with street tyres. Do that for a year or 3 then get some semi's on seperate rims

No real toys to talk about,

Dejetro PFC and no airflows and greater adjustable top control arms, thats about it.

I would like to have a 2nd switch able oil cooler in before I go so I can at least have 10 min sessions.

P.S. I will only be in if the weather is cool, forecast for that week is hot

yeah im back in action for the time being. was a great day and lots of track time and not much traffic at all.

was soo much fun.... cant wait to get back out there agina.... but would have been great if i had some sort of timing, ill have to look into that in the near future. i was however having overheating problems with the watertemp getting up to atleast 120 most of the day/ will have to sort that out soon.

well that was the best time i have had in ages!!!

had a few spinouts but after 4 or 5 sessions i was starting to drift that last corner nicely...omg so much fun! sideways forever!

i will going to these more often...

need to organise a big sau day out there~

its just gonna get expensive with the tyres and all...semis would be nice or atleast a harder compound.

oil got up to 130deg so ibetter get that cooler on and at one point my water temp was 105deg.

found a few bugs in my setup which i'll try and sortout before the next one...cant wait!

haha good to hear you enjoyed it out there. Always amazes me how gtsts can just go hit the track for a day in the middle of summer and survive.

ultimately a set of good semi slicks will be cheaper than wrecking your road tyres, but they are a bit tricky to learn track driving on because the better they are the less warning they give you when they are about to let go.....

Id seriously suggest you stick to street tyres for a few more days on the track. learn the limits on them, then after alot of confidence etc etc, move to the semis.

bascially - do your bestest time on street tyres - then do semis

last turn is awesome....i found it the easiest to drift...

you found it the easyest because its off camber and thats y so many people end up in the wall so be carefull not that i can talk when i was there i was drifting that corner in the wet but i was doing it in a race car so if i crash that i can still get to work.
