Someone attempted to breakin to my R32GTR today.

A screwdriver was used to make an attempt to get into my car . Nice hole just behind the drivers side door handle.

Car was sitting out the front of my work in front of the office. My car has an alarm and imobiliser , and a unique sounding exhaust. Everyone at work would know the sound of the car so if they got in and started the car , we all would of been aware .

Guess what , there is video surveillance . Hope they smiled for the camera's.

I was stupid enough the other day to post a response to thread detailing the where abouts of my car today  and walla, car broken into. Car has been there for 5 yrs and nothing until the above mistake.

My car wont be there anymore .

I enjoy the drive ' but mycars safety is more important , looks like weekend cruises only now.

SAU'ers beware as this says that the responsible party are on this forum , reading our topic's.

Therefore I would recomend that everybody take extreme caution on what they say.

I have noticed quite a few of us mention :eg Gee that is just around the corner from me (stolen car threads especially) and this is just as good as giving these mongrels your address.

Guilty party, I hope your reading this ! :w00t:

Hope the video surveillance took some clear shots of their face so we can bring their scum bag ass to justice! OR we could always go vigilante on their asses!

my car will be parked at sturt police station tomorrow if u wanna have a look guys, feel free to try and break in

This probably wouldn't deter these clowns........after all, they steal police cars while a cop is attending a motor vehicle accident only a few metres away!?

Wouldn't mind rigging up a high voltage steering wheel but knowing my luck, I'd forget to disarm it one morning and toast myself. :w00t::blush::ph34r:

Good to see they didn't get away with your car at least Michael.

And only yesterday when replying to somebody about where I live did I say I won't go to the detail of the exact suburb for this exact reason.

It's sad. Suprised these low lifes can even read let alone have interweb access :P lol

The owner will be at my work tomorow so I can look through the footage myself.

I will post up any details of the car and person involved ie type of car and colour and brief description of those involved.(except plates of vehicle , that goes to the police with a copy of the video) :P

There is one other thing though .

A couple of weeks ago , a red 34 2door skyline pulled into the carpark and stopped for a while (motor left running ) and sped off out of the carpark when approached by a fellow staff member. My car alarm went off and I came running out into the car park to see it taking off down the road .

If this person is on this forum please say so ,(that way we can rule you out of the suspect list) other wise people I would be warey of any car similar hanging around your beasts .

I didn't mind people looking at the car but would be nice if they introduce themselves first .

The police will probably give them 6 months tops if they catch them.

A baseball bat to the front of the knees will slow them down for a lot longer (as Tangles and a few others will attest to)

I think its time that this was handeled outside of the law (provided video is clear on identifying the guilty pri*k)

The car was nice and clean , so I was tempted to take it down to the cop shop to see if they could get some finger prints of it . Window tint and exhaust made me think about defect so I changed my mind .

Would of been typical , you know , go down being the victim of attempted breakin only to get victimised more and get a canary shoved on the window .

Guess what , there is video surveillance . Hope they smiled for the camera's.

Guilty party, I hope your reading this ! :nyaanyaa:

    • Well, in 2007 he must have been charging about $1800 an hour. He only looked at the car for 5 minutes. And another 4 to write the report wrong, and another minute to correct it. Mind you, this was for a car that was: Stock engine, fmic (hole in drivers guard), all alloy intake and custom air box, 3 inch turbo back exhaust, lowered, and a set of 17" Advans (255/40/17 rear and 235/45/17 front). It was nothing crazy. The blue slipper wanted the "hole in the guard" engineered. But that was because he got the shits that I wouldn't "relocate the battery from the boot, back to the factory position in the engine bay"... In an R33 GTST...     Also for emissions, E85, and don't go wild on timing. It's amazing how the closer you get ignition timing towards max torque, the last couple of degrees really throw NOx counts right up. And for the huge increase in emissions, it's only a small increase in torque.
    • He'll be looking down and swearing about "the damn apprentice" for trying to convince Duncan to use percussive maintenance... 😛
    • I swear at my GKTech ones every time I have to take them apart and replace a spherical. But I wouldn't swap them for anything else. They absolutely slay every other option, at least in terms of how they actually work. You sure you don't want to live with bearings? I mean, they don't have "ball bearings". They are rod ends and sphericals throughout. Tough as nuts, even though I have found more than one way to wear them out.
    • From when I was looking at getting the 86 engineered for the turbo, the joint said to put in a few euro 5 or 6 cats, then tune the car on a nice clean E85 tune When I was looking at a turbo for the MX5, it was basically the same thing, a couple of cats and a nice clean tune Although, it will depend on the year of the Jeep IRT emmisions standards required, and what mods are done, especially if it has a newer engine installed that requires a higher Euro
    • Yeah - but it's not actually that easy. There are limits for HC, CO, NOx and particulates. Particulates shouldn't be a concern in any petrol engine unless trying to comply to the very latest Euro standard. But getting a tune right so that all the others stay within limits AT THE SAME TIME is not a trivial exercise. You couldn't possibly get it right by just guessing at the tuner's dyno, unless he had a 4 gas analyser up the pipe, which is not often the case these days. It used to be. Every decent shop that did "tune ups" (as opposed to tuning) would have a 4 gas analsyer. Perhaps there's still quite a few of them around these days. But most "tuners" are only watching O2 and power readings.
