when i put my R31 on Ebay a guy had recognised it because he did some paving at my neighbours house and asked me if i'd swap it for his cordia turbo and a couple of g's. I declided obviously but he got the shits up and i caught him out the front trying to break into it, late on the following friday night. I dont think he and his mate will be doing that ever again.

Since i last posted i have tried to call and SMS but phone is off or just rings out..... so im gathering it is dodgy!

I dont have any family around Adelaide so the next best thing is a common place..... I wasnt expecting to bring out loads of cash to a carpark, i would have assumed he just wanted to look at the car first?? seems a bit wierd, but i guess you can never be too careful with all the thefts around....

I wouldnt post the mobile number dont worry, i have no idea who this person is.... for all i know its a mate pulling a prank or its someone with a bigger baseball bat than mine!! :P

Yeah to go cold right at the end is sus as well..... becareful all that are selling!

On a better note, another guy had a look today and is really keen!

Even in the situation that you are to meet them at a certain place, and they still seem a little dodgy, then just take a mate with ya when you go to meet up. Another persons judge of character can come in handy. Also another pair of fists in the even of punch on is also beneficial.

i've been contacted at least once via sms for things i have for sale on here and they HAD to have my home address to collect them... nedless to say i didnt sell the item to them....

mebe we should be hading these phone numbers over to the police?

either way, look out guys n gals!!!

the cops will do f*k all. These people have done nothing wrong technically.

yeah but knowen car theif + his number on random skyline owners phone may be enough for a warrant? (esp if its on more than 1 phone)

whatever we can do to get these guys caught right?

Sounds dodgy to me mate.

If he was real keen , he would be prepared to meet anywhere.

When I sold my R33, I had it sitting at work with a big sign in the window and advertised it . I sold it to a person that seen it at work . This , I wouldn't do again but. ( what happened yesterday now makes me feel differently )

This ^^^ was a couple of years back though.

Talking to someone over the phone or face to face can give an idea about them Psych their voice

The other thing that I would recomend would to be rock up early. This would give you the chance to scope out the chosen location for possible dodgey mates of the purchaser . Last thing you would want would to be followed home by the purchaser or their mates

Sounds very dodgey indeed. I met up with all potential buyers at thier houses (happened to be a mutually convenient location) when I was selling my car. If they are concerned about knowing your address tell them you are happy to give it to them if they purchase the car (it's on the rego transfer anyway).

Yeah that's dodgy as all hell. I would have said that you would have given him your address after he bought the car if there were any issues with it or explained to him with all the thefts lately that skyline owners don't give out there address to people they don't know. He did sound like he was pressing a little. There is no point in loosing sleep over it though.

DODGY

when i have sold my cars in the past i have met at a place where their is a lot of ppl and only when i have loan info from them or a large deposit they can know my address and i took down their d/l number and explaned why the fuss and they understand because they dont want the car they want stolen and why would he needs t see where you live he ant buying your dam house so must be sussing to steal!

thats what i think anyway

give the guy some other address and a time (like lets say a street or 2 down from your place), then at the time ur supposed to meet, pretend that ur going for a power walk or a jog or a bike ride down that street - become the hunter instead of being hunted.

Did you ever think maybe he thinks your the dodgey one??? I mean he probably has mates in the car scene and knows that imports are being stolen all over the place...then he tries to purchase one and the owner only wants to meet up at red rooster not his home adress?? Just food for thought I guess. The other option is as posted in this thread already, just take the car to a relatives place for an hour or so to show him the car.

Ryan

Hmm maybe.... but i did offer to meet at my work and still thats not cool.....

I havent heard from him, since then i have tried calling and it just says the number is disconnected.......

It may sound dodgy on my behalf, but i explained why, but he wanted to see my house..... thats the dodgy part

BTW the car sold to another buyer anyway.... so im Skylineless.....
