Last day off for me :P... Back to work tomorrow. Oh well.

GT5 looks awesome. I think I'd buy the ps3 for that alone.

xbox360 has a lot of cool games apparently.

Oh, and you can't get the 60GB ps3 anymore (which could play ps2 games). You can only get the 40GB which isn't backwards compatible.

Gran Turismo 5 wont be coming out on Xbox so that decided it for me..

Xbox has more games, but seriously, how many games are you actually gonna buy at $80-$100 per game?? :P

The only shit thing about the current PS3 is that it isnt backward compatible... but if you've got PS2 games then you should have a PS2 to play them on anyway i guess.

IMO Blueray is going to win the 'war', so PS3 with the Blueray player was my choice.

Neither can be chipped yet (that I know of).

Ps3 for me im not a fanboy of either machine as I own a Wii as well. But the people that say 360 has more games than ps3 have a look at how long its been out for... of course it should have alot more games. Both a pretty even with the 360 being easy to program for but I guess things will change when developers know how to exploit the PS3's capabilities.

Blu ray format is another positive not just for movies but allows alot more storage space for games compared to the DVD-9 format on 360. It depends really on what games you like. All of my favorite games are sony exclusives so that sealed the deal for me plus I got a blu ray player out of it as well.

FYI I have a 60gb version so backward compatiblilty isnt a problem for me.

When I was going to buy the Wii I tossed up on if I should get a 360 instead but the fact (at the time) they had problems with reliabilty decided to steer me clear of the 360.

I'm planing to buy a PS3. Simply becos of final fantasy and tekken games will come out! Also u can buy Midnight maximum tune on the Ps3...if you like playing the arcade version. Ps3 is more sexy looking!! 360 is basically a PC!

PS3's online is free to play games.. to most degrees. you still pay a fee to buy stuff if you want.. eg big cheat 'patches' etc.

you have to pay on 360 to play games online at all.

big plus for ps3

360 makes way too much noise as it constantly keeps the disc spining at flat out speeds. Sounds like a shitty CDROM in a PC at 50x. Took it back the next day...

Got the PS3 now, whisper quiet and ive gotta say, the controllers are much better.... That fact that ive had PS and PS2 prevously might have something to do with that :woot:

I personally have the 360 and i love it. The controllers are much better to use, there are a lot more games available, and there IS a chip for the xbox. Well, not really a chip but they "flash" the DVD drive. I don't know exactly what it does, but you play copied games because of that. I've had it for about a year, got about 10 games (all copied) and i wont buy a single original games. I buy each game for about $8, whereas you can get a PS3 and buy each game for $100+.

The Blu-Ray thing doesn't bother me. When the time comes, i'll get a Blu-Ray player - not a PS3. Anyone with a PS1 or PS2 knows that the laser eventually F's itself and thats it for the system - it's as good as the dirt on your front lawn. Sony focuses too much on TV's/Sterio's/Car Audio/Computer bits/Mobile Phones/then the PS3. The market for Sony is too big, they really don't care about the quality of their "other" products.

The only downside with the Xbox 360 is the Xbox live. You have to buy an external wireless adaptor so you can play against other people on the net. Other then that, the Xbox is made to perfection!

Being a fanboy of the Xbox, people would assume i would choose that. I own both systems but have more games on the 360.

In this generation, I would have to opt for the ps3. At the current time, the 360 has alooooooot more games and more people have a 360 (probably because of price). The 360 had alot of downsides when it came out. For one, it is noisy. Too noisy lol. Second, to have a decent long session of gaming you should probably buy an intercooler for the 360 as it overheats really easily.

The ps3 can overheat also, but only if you have it stored in the inside of a cupboard. The ps3 is basically future proof. It has a Blu-ray and given a few years, will easily have better graphics then the 360. At the moment developers are just finding it hard to produce a game onto the blu-ray format. That's why most multi-platform games are first made for the 360, then ported over to the ps3. The ps3 given a year or so, will have a very good lineup of games, and the graphics will improve dramitcally.

This battle is basically like the last-gen battle but in reverse. Sony had a headstart on Microsoft, and therefore had a major part of the sales due to the amount of consoles sold. The xbox however, was more powerful then the ps2 and could run more powerful games. I believe that this is the opposite case now, xbox had a start and the ps3 is more powerful and future-proof.

So i would say a ps3. Personal oppinion, remembering im a xbox fanboy. :nyaanyaa:

I plan on getting a PS3, no real reason for it, just want to...

I don't have a super mega awesome TV as of yet, so the fact that it is blue ray really doesn't mean shit to me, I can't even make DVDs look any better then tapes...

But I love my 360... Maybe I'm just used to loud shit, but it isn't that noisy, mine has NEVER over heated (and man I have played the SHIT out of it before... left it in for days on some long Forza 2 races) and never skipped a beat... and i treat the thing damn rough too...

First Xbox I have ever had too, had both the PSX and the PS2 before the Xbox (both were fantastic, PS2 was our first DVD player... LOVED IT!) I might look into chipping the xbox...

Hard to say.If Sony still had the 60gig version with the SD card reader id say get the playstation.

So 50/50.

My brother has a 360 and i have played the ps3 they both look the same graphics wise but the 360 has all the numbers when it comes to games.

Some people buy the playstation for the fact its both a gaming console and a Blue Ray player.

So if your presentee is keen on Dvds and has a decent LCD or plasma go the ps3.

PS3 hands down...

it is backward compatible with some games...not a lot though, mainly more recent titles..

Graphics are superior, just depends on the game as some dont show as much as others...

I worked for Krome Studios...dnt know if anyone knows of them, but it was pretty much PS3 for the win, i worked on 'Hellboy: The science of evil' which was on both 360 and PS3 and the PS3 did show clearer crisper graphics.

360 controllers are a cheap rip on Playstation controllers IN MY OPINION...

not to mention the PS3 controls are much lighter (obviously because they removed the vibration function), which is awesome, and they also have the six-axis function, which isnt that much of a major feature but is kind of cool (im sure it could come in handy for those who like to tilt to the side when playing racing games etc...)

as was covered 360 has more next gen titles, but a lot of the best games are PS3 only...well my favs ie...Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid 4, GT 5... the list goes on

360 is a good console none the less, but i think the main reason a lot of people (and this is going back a fair while) chose 360 over PS3 had to do with the fact that sony kept pushing back the date, which as im sure evry1 will agree was freakin annoying... and im sure this cost them a lot of support as the hype died due to the constant promise that it would be out and then knocking it back again...

any how thas my 2 cents...(more like $20) :D

    • Hi there, after a quick google search I found this topic as I am also relocating the battery to the boot of my 1998 GTT. I was just wondering how you got on with installing the re-routing and specifically the installing of the harness protectors? How do they attach? Are they just a simple "click-in" affair, or do they attach with bolts? Does the GTT have all the necessary fixing holes for them, for example, where they locate on the chassis? Any help you can provide would greatly appreciated.
    • Thanks mate, yeah I've heard that alot and i am definitely regretting using the 25 Loom now, i have gone through and traced all the plugs from the 20loom and re wired them into the 25 loom, I have currently got Crank, Fuel and accessory's working, just need to finalise the loom and run the wire for the Ignition (Spark) and it should be running, will update if i have any luck.
    • Cheers lad, when I head over there I'll give it a shot.
    • Stock less likely to carry one like that than urethane, but still can, especially if the bolts are not as tight as they should be. If it's making that much noise you should be able to use a hose as a stethoscope> stick one end in your ear, crouch down and wave it around the various possible noise makers and get someone to lift the front end at the guard lip.
    • Broken actuator rod. Could be one of a couple of them broken. Or, it's locked and the central locking actuator is broken/stuck or the actuator rods between it, the lock and the key barrel are jammed or broken similarly. You'll probably need a locksmith/mechanic who is experienced with using slim tools to reach down next to the window glass to manipulate the mechanism. That's assuming that it is not so severely jammed/broken that nothing useful will move.
