Hey everyone, this is more of an enquiry than anything else, but I compete in motorkhana's, hillclimbs and sprints and I was looking at getting th QFM pads. I was really wanting to get the 750 degree ones for their track use but I would need cold bite for the motorkhana's and such. Should I just get the 550 degree ones or would the 750's do the cold job alright. one last thing is how bad is the squeel?

P.S. I also have a R32 Type M GTS-T and I heard that they are the same calipers and pads as the non-brembo GT-R's

Same pad, different caliper.

As far as pads go, you won't benefit from a high temp rated pad. I couldn't even hazard a guess as to what specific pad will be best for your application, but a high temp pad will be worse than a cheap street biased pad as there is a bit of a trade off in cold performance no matter what the marketing says.

I understand that street pads are good for motorkhanas its just the problem I have is that it will be used at track days alot, but I got about 10 laps on the pads I got and they weren't anything special.

So I think I will get the QFM 550degree ones and If they are no good, I'll upgrade and see how they are

Thanks for the help guys I hope to see some more faces at trackdays :(

P.S. I was stocked about the lap time, so Texikhana's and Deca '08 should do better than the starlet

Reece,

Are you good at tinkering with stuff?

Get a good street pad in for the khana's and normal driving, when you go to the track, night before change em around?

Yeah good effort hey! Well, if anything to go by my 1.40 on the back track at Texi should be a walk in the park for you! :woot:

I agree with evil,

As good as my 800 degree project Mu's are on the track, they just don't cut it when dead cold, to be honest, the older they get, the worse the cold performace seems to be. I can't really complain though as they just don't seem to be wearing out (and neither are the pmu rotors) and they have done 5 days at wakefield now and never faded once. The same can't be said of the cheap shit rears.

If you decide to go with a middle of the range pad (and i think your choice of a 550 degree pad is a good compromise), you will need to accept that it won't perform optimally in both situations, so the only way around it is to swap pads continually.....

hhmmmmm

a lil off topic

but BHdave how are the project mu rotors and pads ???

im looking at getting a front pair of Project ƒÊ SCR rotors and Project ƒÊ Type NR pads.

cars mainly used for street with future track work once parts have been replaced.

R32 gts-t type m

I can't comment on the NR's as i haven't used them, I have the HC+ and i think they are fantastic.

I have the SCR Pro rotors and again, i can't fault them. I think they are fantastic.

I have r34gtt front brakes on my 32gtst.

Neither the pad or the rotor are wearing significantly despite the amount of track work they are seeing and they are performing very well.

We'll see how they go on a faster track like ec in the new year.

I just found out I have some rreally dodgy brake pads at the moment, so 10 laps on those should go a bit further with the 500, which I will be happy with.

Thanks for all the Help and I'm sure I will see you guys around :D
