stroked rb20

hey guys has anyone attepmted or heard of anyone attempting to stroke an rb20 to a rb22 or 24 the way meggala's says?

i've heard of people using the bottom end of a rb30 (vl turbo engine) and use the heads & cams from a rb20,25,26 apparently makes alot of torque

i have no idea...all i know is a rb26 engine is expensive for someone like me these days

big boost with bigger turbo.. maybe... with the extra .4l the turbo would spool up quicker also it would drive better off boost.. more torque..

i think the rb24 will be quite expensive for the performance gain, the rb23 (25 bottm end) should be 1/2 or even less the price and u can save the $$ for cam or other stuff...

You should be able to get a good complete RB26DETT for 6K, a complete but stuffed one, o/k for a rebuild, maybe 3K.

I purchased a complete R33 RB26 short motor with scored pistons and bores for $500. It has a perfectly good crank, rods and oil-pump for that amount.

I have also seen as new, bare crank and rods going for $500 from someone fitting a stroker kit to an R34 GTR, there are a few of these pop up from time to time on the Forums. But you have to be quick.

So can you use the 4AGZE pistons in an RB24 or not? is the deck height, piston pin diamete, skirt length etc all correct? Do they need to be flycut so they don't hit the valves? CR?

greenline has a 2.3 and 2.4 stroker kit in stock

il be doing the same 2.4 is the only way to go

I also noticed they only had the 2.2 and 2.4 piston kits. Would I be right in say you use the 2.4 piston kit with the 25 crank and rods and this should be 2.3 rather than 2.4?

If they did have a 2.3 piston kit I must have missed it.
