Justjap split does not fit, hits floor, quality not as good

Bos importing and CES split do fit, but cost more, good quality

X force bell mouth fits, good quality

bell mouth produced more kw approx 7-8kw on a hks GTRS on a neo stagea, over a split dump.

JJR split $250, hits floor along side gearbox. If you do a search I had a thread showing the reason why

Bos $420 s/s

CES $550-650

X force s/s $350 from UAS or maybe $330 JJR

I ended up with the x force

That is awsome news!!! I couldnt decide if i should go split or bell mouth and its for a S2 Manual, I am also going to be buying a HKS GTRS..

Car goes in next weeks so im glad I chose the Bell Mouth...

i say go ces, excellent power gains quality of build exceptional, worth the extra bucks, they really know there business when it comes to split pipes ( yeh i've got a full s/s system so i'm going to endorse e'm, 25 xtra kw's says so), some people think the o2 sensors in the wrong posistion but i,ve had no dramas

good luck

Duncan, I can confirm that the JJR split one doesn't fit. I bought one a few months back and took it down to UAS for fitting. Andrew showed me where it hits, it's kinda near one of the rear engine or front gearbox mounts (can't remember exactly). We compared it to an R34 one which he'd just changed, and the R34 is a closer fit - it has a bit of a kink where the mount is.

cats are cats they will all fit. if you car about the environment buy a lovely standard one and replace it every 40000klm. If you don't get the biggest, cheapest mesh style one you can. eg JJR or similar

JJR Split Dump & Front Pipe - Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T Price: $269

High Flow Design - 3 inch Stainless Steel

Is this the one you guys are talking about that won't fit?

Also what are you fellas doing for the rest of the exhaust? JustJap have HKS Stagea specific exhaust packages for $799, has anyone used these or would it be cheaper to just get an exhaust shop to fill in the rest?

Edited by rubba

I was going to go the JJ HKS quiet one. Got my hands on a lovely trust setup the other day but it doesn't fit, are S1 and S2 different? (or maybe it was just labelld wrong and isnt stagea at all)

    • I'd need to check my notes at work Duncan, but I'm pretty sure most of that is purely OBD2 on the display. How quickly is it all able to update? Do you have any internet capability in your workshop with a laptop?
    • Yeah just gonna be near stock runner only want 180kw to 210kw can’t find anything been looking ages looked in to rb25 but money is tight as the moment need the car back on the road
    • From there it is trickier. Ecutek seems to be one of those closed ecosystems where everyone password protects their tunes which means I either choose a tuner and can't change from them and can't make any changes myself for any reason, or I have to buy the tuning software (about $4k) and then get someone to tune from scratch (which is not simple with all the multi dimensional tables these days). Once you buy about 300 "flash points" per ECU you can get it tuned and add their "RaceROM" function which hacks extra functionality like launch control onto the ECU, and also makes extra data available for logging over CAN Not sure what I'll do there yet; I'm tempted to use one of the overseas shops that does billions of remote tunes of the platform instead of starting from scratch locally, a lot can be done online these days.
    • Can I log IAT eh? Well, can now So next thing was looking at data logging. Not straight forward because none of the motorsport displays have cracked the nissan/inifinti CAN and ECU based displays don't do g logging, lap timing, predictive laps etc.  So, I bought an Ecutek dongle from Tunehouse (Oz distributor). Even without a tune onboard that allows display and logging of about 50 parameters via Android (and presumably iOS) app. Approx 600 for the bluetooth + Usb version That gives me (pretty ugly but) functional dash display on Android And logging of these parameters I'll play around a bit over the break, but at least now I can make sure I have oil pressure when I get to some track testing.
