thats what mine has..... R33 catback with lengthened section prior to rear muffler.

Just Jap stainless steel bellmouth turbo dump and front pipe $220

high flow cat converter $180

r33 catback 'lengthened' pipe $0 was on car

Kakimoto GTR hiflow muffler, all 3" $150 fitted

was a Fujistubo muffler but needed something better flowing, sold it for -$100

so my highflowing exhaust cost not much at all

sounds like a true RB engine with the highflow turbo and free flow exhaust.

not too loud when normal driving, under the legal dB limit I feel, and the turbo is louder than the exhaust (from drivers position) above 4500rpm

for a cheap catback system buy yourself a good 2ndhand brand name hiflow muffler and get the system welded onto new pipes, which are then bent and fitted, at a shop for say $200-50 ?

well sure, you can use anything if you are prepared to modify it to fit - Gary had access to 3" pipe and someone who knew how to weld exhausts.

is a 34gtr gonna fit with length but not rebending?

I have a Trust R32 exhaust on my series 1 which needed a bit more work than that. The angle of the pipe from cat to centre muffler was pointing down too much, so had new flange put on, a bit of length after the centre muffler added and it was done. Only issue was that the rear muffler outlet for the exhaust tip does not line up with the bumper hole, so had to have a bit of a bendy section in there that I'm not 100% happy with. Could redo the rear muffler hangers and add a bit more pipe to have it sweet. All up $90 to have it fitted in, including the chrome tip, only took 20 mins of stuffing around for the muffler shop.

An R33 system might be an even better fit though :-)

and gonna get an exhaust shop to make up a 3" pipe from the cat to fit my blitz muffler.

this will be early next year, then ill get my afc and sitc fitted and away i go :P

I questioned Jason/SkidKid on his modified 32 gtr exhaust a while back. This was his reply...

G'day, I built/ moded the exh. myself so when you or the exh. shop does the job you will find it is around 4.5" that needs to be added after front muffler to get the elbow in the pipe past the diff. You may find that the gtr exh. doesn't bolt square to the cat (not sure as I fitted a 3" cat and had to weld flanges on to suit). It did take a fare bit to get it to sit nice. You will need to add new hangers to suit stagea. You will need a longer tailpipe aswell. Hope I have been of some help. Cheers, Jason.

I purchased an X-force Mild steel R33 belmouth dump (8mm flanges) a while back. It needed a lot of persuasion to bolt to the cat. The shape of the pipe off the turbo flange also saw the need for one of the bolts to be shortened.

Since the install Autosport Engineering in Kirrawee and I have had a total of 5 attempts to get the turbo to Exhaust manifold gasket to seal. Autosport put an extra 4 nuts on the manifold to turbo studs about 2 months ago and it is leaking again. It looks as if the illshapen dump could be prising the turbo off the manifold..

Focus: Just Jap Quality Varies, last i spoke to them they were happy to admit this and would be just as happy to replace a faulty part. If your dump needs more than a little persuasion to fit take it back and have it replaced.

http://www.gktech.com.au/products/?categor...p;show=Category i paid 200$ for the two pipes, only issue i can see is the front pipe reduces to 2.5" to fit stock exhausts, but for the price, i will tolerate chinese shit, when my car needs the better quality, it will get it.

Ash, at least you're lucky in the sense that JustJap is close to Autosport Engineering - I don't mind the drive down to JJ (for me it's roughly 40 minutes each way), but the traffic is a pain in the butt and has almost doubled the trip time on a few occasions. Unfortunately for me when I had to return the dump pipe to them I wasn't feeling the best and was subsequently a bit grumpy (although I never would subject anyone else to that - it's not their fault), but their customer service was pretty good and they refunded me (and even offered to replace it with the bellmouth version at no extra cost, but I needed the money at the time), which made me feel a lot better.

me and some mates bastardised a MS 33 kakimoto exhaust (oval type) to fit my S1 stag... we neded to extend it a bit - and then redo some of the bends - and it fouls against a crossmember somewhere and gets anoyying at times - our biggest problems seem to be caused by the fact that the fuel tank and rear muffler space are different ... and basically it didn't fit snuggly without some alterations - and it still isn't 'clean'.. it works fine - but it's not a nice sharp job. I would just fork out the money next time and get a SS cat back from HKS or whatever and save yourself all the dicking around and possibly being dissapointed by an inferior result...

that being said - it was kinda fun to do and i learnt how to weld :yes:

yeah my cat back also required significant modification - there was a floorpan change somewhere along the stagea series which allowed a second muffler to fit in before the diff. My car did not have the cut out in the floor - which meant the beautiful 3 muffler trust system got chopped up and the rear half done frmo mandrel bends. I might as well have started with a cheap 33 exhaust considering the amount of changes required.

sounds and looks great now - still needs to get the PFC in and be tuned before I know the change to power

Just Jap have JJR Bellmouth design 1 piece Dump & Front Pipes available in Stainless for $199 + Delivery... has anyone fit this to an S1 manual without mods?

I have that fitted to a S1 auto.

I believe it needed gentle persuasion to fit, but fit it does nontheless

they are excellent value for money

the dyno tune shop charged me $100 to fit the JustJap pipe and a cat converter.......... said they had to make the dump fit, so might need a little persuasion. But it does fit, had it off since when we put on the hiflow turbo and it bolted up again no probs.

with the top bolt holes on the flange, tip: use small bolts :thumbsup:
