engine in process of getting built with t04z and power target of 650rwhp. I already got hks ssqv...if i was to run the turbo at 2bar, would i need an extra bov? Or should i go for something like the tial bov?

Many don't run one at all, so you don't need anything.

If its job is to dump air, and a bigger one... umm, dumps more air, then i guess you have to decide if... you want your impeller slowing a bit, or less then a bit by use of a larger one (or two)

Crank 2bar into it, and if it flutters when you back off, I guess go bigger.

Id suggest its a setup / driver preference thing ;)

Do you deem that mandatory / beneficial? ~$500 is a lot of BOV'ing

i wouldnt say its mandatory but i plan on pushing a fair bit of boost into my motor so ii think its a good idea to have a big enuff bov

i run 26psi threw my GT3076R on my SR20 and that turbo didnt last very long ;)

Didn't last long cus lack of BOV's? Iv never seen a turbs get damaged due to lack of BOV ;)

Any new garret turbo should last a looong time. Turbos outlive engines in the trucking business... and they're always on boost ;)

mine lasted about 6 months :) ive got a new one coming over frm the states now

i do have a bov but ive got it adjusted as tight as can be

dunno if it was the cause of it or not but i dont realli care, ive always used a BOV on all my cars because i tend to run over 20psi with all my cars i just adjust them as tight as they can go and if the turbo dies it dies i'll get it rebuilt or ill replace it
