hey guys, just recently my r33 has decided it wants to test me. basicly everytime i i pull up at a set of lights or come to a stop the car stalls. then when i turn it on again it revs up to about 1000rpm and then drops down to almost nothing then back up again and then down to nothing so on and so on. It also seems to misfire a bit under acceleration seems to be lacking power.

its been fine but 3 weeks ago i noticed that i need a new fan belt and A/C belt so i got new ones put in and the fan belt squeels a bit when i start the car any know if there may have been something they may have done to screw up how the car runs or what could it be???

its just frustrating so i thought maybe someone here might know if its just something simple.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any aftermarket engine management devices, eg: powerfc?

Could be a lot of things. Spark plugs, ignition coil, MAF sensor, idle control motor. Best to get a mechanic to have a look at it so

they can diagnose the problem properly and get it fixed.

Is it auto or manual? Sounds like the idle air control valve, there is a screw adjustment for air bypass on the throttle body that can alter your idle to help with stalling.

The stalling could be because you've got a vacuum leak. Do you have a atmo bov by any chance? If you do, it's that. If not, check over your intercooler piping for any leaks.

The squealing from the belts could be that the belts are too loose. They're too loose or they're too tight.

Are you running standard boost? Running rich can cause idling issues. And it only misfires under acceleration right?

First thing I'd do is put it back to standard boost and see if either the stalling or the misfiring continues. If that fixes some or all of the problem then I reckon, in my opinion, it could be the ECU flooding the ignition system with fuel and retarding the ignition timing at about 4500rpm where the stage 2 boost should kick in, and then causing a misfire.

clean out your aac valve,my r-33 kept stalling when ever i slowed down or pulled up.

me and a mate took the valve off and it was putrid and after we cleaned it out no more stalling and i got my power back.

ok so anyway turns out all the problem was was a loose fan belt. i tightened it up and it was fine. full power again and no more stalling. weird how something so simple could cause so many dramas.

thanks for all the advice anyway.

Thats also the A/C belt, I guess improper voltage was the cause.

I'm glad that you manage to fix it yourself... take it to a dodgy mechanic and he'll tell you a dinosaur stepped on it and will charge you an arm and a leg! This is what I hate and have always opted to know of 1 mechanic only...
