Does anyone have Wangan MIdnight on PS3?

I just trying to understand the Japan menus and how the cards work.

Any help or links to help would be great as my understanding of the Japanese picture language is basically nil.

Cheers!

I have had it for ages but haven't played it much. So I can't really help out too much. Did you buy the Japanese or Asian Version? I have the Asian version so it has some english instructions with it (not alot) and this is all it says about the cards.

Card System: There are two types of cards: ABILITY cards that you equip to improve car abilities and STATUS cards that have an effect simply by possessing them.

Slots: Slots are where you equip ABILITY cards. Equipping an ABILITY card in a slot activates the card's effect, thereby improving the performance of the car.

*Note that the cards you equip here will affect all cars in all modes.

i've got it!

this website should help you out: http://www37.atwiki.jp/wangan-midnight/pages/20.html

basically with the card system, its power up everything from more power, overboost, cooling mods, handling mods etc etc, depending on the rank you get in the mission depends what type of cards you will get.

this page will explain what each card does

NOOOOOO i'm a few month too late, it's DOWN!!!!!

anyone got mirror?

and is it supposed to be so dark?? I couldn't see the barricade around corners half the time and crash into them.

I just played some yesterday, got it when a mate went back to Taiwan and I got him to buy it for me. graphics is definitely not ps3 gfx....more like PS2.5, ,looks like it would run on ps2 if given the opportunity.

I just went into story mode and played a bit of that and before you know it, it's 2 am....so I had to go to bed. Now I need to find out what the cards do and what they mean.

Was playing with RGO R33, the damn thing goes up to 381km/h......now...is that a bug? or is it suposed to be this way?

WHat type of TV are you using? It looks fine on my LCD...it was shocking with the standard AV cables but with the HDMI cables, it looks 100x better. Yea the 33 goes up to 381 before it overheats.

And to answer peoples' queries, the arcade version of Wangan Midnight is a totally different game, made by NAMCO. The ps3 version was created by GENKI, the group that brought us the tokyo extreme series and Kaido battles. I prefer the NAMCO version though...

    • I'd want an even MORE side on view. More or less you want to make sure the outlet is actually square with the outermost part of the bumper. Or you end up getting soot all over your bumper from your hektik exhaust. In any case, it looks pretty close. I think the way to fix this is probably more of an overhaul at an exhaust specialty shop if you want tips that are rounded off or sit nicely with the bumper but have proper clearance and don't move - Probably more of a redesign than a quick fix. I've pencilled in my own exhaust with its own various problems, pinholes, PITA fitment, and other issues and can see myself going to a shop and saying "JUST DO THIS BUT BETTER?"  Which is gonna work better than any more small fixes. I'm gonna chime in here officially with "from an outsider perspective this exhaust looks fine so this is self OCD probably" (which I also suffer from)
    • Reminds me I really need to install that HKS oil cooler I bought years ago.
    • It be 40°C outside lately. 10W60 is a good idea here. Well, certainly 10W50.
    • Here are some side on's.
    • I just did an oil change on my daily which used oil that is probably 2-3 years old. Normally I try to follow exact viscosities, but my LS400 is fairly tolerant. Dumped something like half a quart of 0W30 Mobil1 ESP X2 in there, followed by 2 quarts Pennzoil 5W30, followed by ~1.2 quarts of liquimoly 5W30 LL04 spec oil. Then the rest was QS euro 5W40 which is actually so thin it's basically a 30 weight oil. All this is to say it doesn't matter that much. We aren't talking about brake fluid. For an RB I would recommend a high ZDDP oil because it doesn't use rollers in the interface between the cam and valve, but a 5W30 or 5W40 is fine to use for street use. The 10W60 guidance really only applies if you're getting it hot and pushing the engine hard.
