If the rear seats have been removed permentlly then you will need a mod plate as its now a 2 seater, not a 4/5 seater...

As such the rego needs to be changed and as such this is a non factory option to this vechicle then yes a mod plate will be needed...

Edit: Check out DOT's website its pretty clear about what does and does not need a mod plate.

what size tubing and wall thickness as i have the law requirements(in the code of practice book)for roll cages for street approval

note it says nothing about welding in a cage

but u will need to pad the cage with high density foam at least 19mm thick

piping must be aussie standard 1554 or better

welds must be full peneration but welds

steel min requirements

hoops 45mm diameter

2.5mm wall thickness

rear braces straight 30mm

1.5 mm wall thickness

rear braces bent 45mm

1.5mm wall thickness

I know I need a mod plate for the rear seats but I read on the internet that you need the roll cage to be bolted down to do with the "jaws of life" if you were in a roll over, but since there is no longer rear seats I was wondering if it still mattered with the roll cage
