Now everyone i know thats put a 25 box in there 32 has had to weld the 25 tailshaft yoke onto the 20 tailshaft right?!?

Well i received my 25 yoke in the post and it just came with one half of the uni joint and i thought great now i have to find the other half of the uni joint and tailshaft. but now that i've pulled out my 20 tailshaft the uni joints look identical and measure up to be identical.

So what i'm wondering is seeing as though my car was a factory manual and i don't need to modify the length of my tailshaft could i get away without welding the yoke to the tailshaft and just connect the rb20 uni joint to the rb25 uni joint, so that i basically end up with the 25 tailshaft yoke and one half of the uni joint connected to the 20 tailshaft and other half of the 20 uni joint?

Cheers!

Makes no difference whether you swap the uni or weld after the uni.. I think the deal is that those uni's are not rebuildable (or so the guy at VEEM told me) as such they require some abuse to get out and you would need to source a brand new uni.. aslong as the uni isn't rooted it's usually easier to get it cut/welded and rebalanced.

I'm about to swap my RB20de witha RB25det. I'm still going to use my Rb20 gearbox. Will I still have to "change" my drift shaft or can I use my old drive shaft since it the same gearbox??se s

Same tailshaft can be used BigC ^^^

À friend of mine just told me that the gearbox wont hold the HP of the engine (planning on boosting 20psi). So I will use the RB25 gearbox. What should I do??

Thanks for the help

    • I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet

    • Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
    • No. Go a different colour, and just trim it at an edge line. Even manufacturers do different panels different colours etc.
    • I see no real downsides to ITB's, apart from the initial cost of my drive in drive out lifestyle, the "upsides" is they sound cool and would add lots of smiles I am willing to pay to play for the extra smiles I've spent the morning googling and youtubing the BBR ITB's, a "little" extra power and throttle response, but alot more dort, and really, I'm only really in it for the dort Who knows, after all this money is spent I might even make 150kwatw....LOL
