Melb Workshop For Z32, Brother Needs His Car Fixed Up

My bro has a stock na z32, its running a bit rough (not too bad), not idling well and has a few oil leaks, and theres a few other little things wrong with it, and I cbf fixing it.

Can anyone suggest a good place to take it that won't rip him off? Located in south melb so somewhere reasonably close would be good.

Somewhere without a 3 week wait would be nice, want to get it in the shop this week.

...and would it run with an rb20 AFM :D

My car is currently at GSB Auto getting a few things fixed up. Its taking time, but George keeps in touch to let me know where my car is at. Pretty good prices too.

Def recommend any of these 2. Oh and GSB has a courtesy car as well if you live ages away.

Good luck finding someone now, with only 2 weeks before Christmas/New Year closure, most w/shops will be FLAT out :D

If RE is not too far from you, you can try Sabbadin Automotive, only a 2 min drive from RE.

No thanks to Ray, previous experience with him and a mates car weren't good.

I'm after something that will take a week tops, as my bro is going away soon

Then try GSB - but as Al said most workshops close up around this time.....i think gsb will be closed from the 21st till the 7th. But def worth giving george a call and get him to look at the car.

      KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?

      Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no.       LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
