Gday fellas, its time to move my S15 on. I purchased the car new in 2001 and have spent 6 years modifying it to the tune of close to $40,000.

I also have an R33 GTR that makes 450rwkw on Racinglines dyno, so I drive that every chance I get. I am looking for an outright sale or a trade with cash my way. Having a second car is handy because of the time the GTR spends off the road getting modified.

I am also starting 2 new businesses so the cash will help get started.

All work on my S15 has been done by Ice performance/Racingline.

Last dyno run netted 250rwkw. I will post up some pics and whatever dyno sheets I can find.

understandable that its heavily modified will the engine hold much longer?

please prove me if im wrong

cheers

Company car, most of the K's are from Frankston to Hoppers crossing, 90% of K's are Monash Freeway. Car has never been into the city, its a little too loud lol

Thats 36,000kms per year for an all day, every day driver, I was a rep.

Nigel ( Racingline) pulled the motor down recently and I had to replace one piston and one ring, I was prepared to do a full rebuild but Nigel said I would be wasting my time and money.

Most parts have done much much less kms, turbo only 30,000, exhaust maybe 20,000, suspension arms 10,000 etc.

Prefer an R32 GTR and cash, depending on mods on the GTR. I'm a bit different to the average buyer. If your car has mods, I actually value them.

I'd much rather swap with a guy who builds his car the way he wants rather than keeping an eye on the market.

So you guys with hot 32's, pm me.

Its either that or a very modified widebody 180SX + cash, would rather a 32 though.

For $28,000 I take bits off the car.

I have over $18,000 dollars of spares and parts for sale on ns.com.

So far only spares have sold so the car is complete, as soon as I get my money I will stop advertising bits on the car.

I'd rather not take it back to standard, but if thats what I have to do to get my money then I will. As I have stated, I dont WANT to get rid of my car, but I need cash for a couple of new business ventures I have started, and being a father of 5 I have responsibilities.

I would love a 32 to go with my 33 BUT its cash I need, so it would need to have a cash component attached. I'll have a look at your 32 anyway, is it on this forum.

I have someone looking for a trade coming round, anybody willing to offer an outright price????

I can take bits off to accomodate a lower price.

I'm very interested in your car, its actually what I was hoping to get as a trade in. How much cash can you offer, as its the cash component that most critical for me. I'm not fussed with the tiny flaws in your car, my only concern is the difference in price.

Would you consider a R33 GTS-T that's mildly modified and then cash difference your way? I prefer it stock so I can start the project myself. What do you say?

Intrested in a swap? Let me know your terms and I may be intrested. Not selling at the moment but if the price was right I might be keen:

I have a 32 GTR with the following mods:

150 xxx KMS

Engine:

R34 N1 steel wheel turbos - fairly new, under 20 000 kms - currently running 1 BAR

HKS Dumps

Blitz tuned-length front-pipes

HKS 3.5" Catback

JustJap Oil cooler + filter relocator

SARD pod filters

Drivetrain and Suspension:

NPC 6 puk clutch

Tein Coilovers

Cusco Upper Control arms

Unknown Castor arms (came on the car)

Nismo (I think) Strut Brace front

595SS tyres

Blitz 2 piece wheels

Electronics:

Apexi Power-FC computer

Blitz ID3 Boost controller

Ruzic Engineering "Track Master" tuneable/programable AWD torque split controller

Breaks:

DBA Slotted + Dimpled front rotors

DBA Slotted rear rotors

EBC Red Stuff Pads all round - less then 10 000 kms

Other:

Several grand worth of maintaince recently carried out, alot of things like Tie Rod ends, control arms, CV boots etc were replaced and car now handles *very* well, espically in the hands of someone who knows how to drive it properly (It has a unique style of driving due to the current program on the torque split controller, however this is easily changed) - car currently drives without missing a beat.

Gearbox oils were recently replaced as well, Redline Shockproof was used in the box itself, gearbox drives without a problem and doesnt miss a beat.

Negatives:

Cars bodywork could be better, fairly straight however one rust patch and a few scratchs in the paint. Rust is on rear passanger wheel arch and can be repaired for $300 - $350 - rust is non structural. There is also a frayed patch on the drivers seat where my bum rubs against it when I get in and out. The cars a fighter, not a lover, basically.

With a fule pump and injectors, it will see 300 kw's and turbos are very responsive. Car has impressive power and torque already from 3k all the way to 8. Should currently be good for low - mid 12's. Currently running 14.7 PSI on standard fule setup, injector duty is mid 80's and knock is never above 30. Great base if you want to track the car, car is setup for handling not outright straight line speed, however its certainly not slow.

Sounds like my kind of car Ian. Could you possibly send me some pics or if your in Melbourne I could check it out.

Thien, it depends on the money side as the GTS is not the sort of car I would keep for long, I would move it on.

Julz and Ben, I need to see pics of your cars if your serious.

I have also been offered a Chaser, R34 GTT and a 180SX. I just want to make sure I get the right deal.

I'll take some later, but I didnt notice you were in melb :D Im in brisbane - still, ill take some pics and we can go from there.

Oh also, I forgot the following mods:

N1 front lights (rare)

N1 CF Rear lip (also still has stock rear spoiler, GTR's look silly without them)

N1 Front bumper

    • Well, hydraulic lifters will get noisy if they are dirty/fouled in some way, and exactly how that manifests will depend on exactly what schmutz is where. There is a procedure on here somewhere for dismantling and soaking/cleaning them. Replacing them with new is about 50% of the work and about 5% of the money!
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
    • This seems problematic and unlikely at the same time. Vanilla RB2Xs have hydraulic lifters. They do have "zero" clearance, but only when running with oil pressure inside them. When not running, you should be able to compress them and obtain heaps of clearance. RB26s and Neos have solid lifters. They should have ~0.3mm and ~0.5mm on the inlet and exhaust respectively. If they have zero clearance then bad things are happening. With nothing else being wrong, it would mean that the valves would be held slightly (ever so slightly) open when they are supposed to be closed and it should have all sorts of problems when running, caused by leakage in/out through the valves. Or, zero clearance can indicate severe valve seat recession. None of it is good. Have you used a piece of hose as a stethoscope to try to localise the noise?
    • Sorry for reviving an old post, but I'm having the same hot idle tick issue. Did anyone ever find out what it was?  I have checked/ replaced Injectors Coils checked Lifter clerance (is at zero) Checked Cam lobes Replaced exhaust gasket and studs Would appreciate any advice this is driving me nuts
    • There's a huge reason manufacturers are tuning in dead flat torque curves... Make them reliable (and more drive able)
