Hey guys

especially youse with the Yellow stags.

Have you had any issues with paint fading?

I was warned about the yellow not being designed for Aust Conditions and it could fade real easy.

Has anyone had any issues with it. I'm after a manual RS4 yellow preferably with sunroofs and leather.

Cheers Girls & Boys

no issues here :) ... except for the painted plastic parts fading faster than the painted metal parts (eg side moulds, dayz tail light covers etc), but its hardly noticeable

but as Logan has previously mentioned, they do surprisingly attract bee's :P

i have had no issues with the metal bits but have got sunburn on my spoiler where all the clear has flaked off it, and i found that using good old mister sheen stops it for a bit. but as we are on level 4 water restrictions and am not allowed to wash the car it has come back, so i will have to give it another dose soon until i can afford to have it resprayed.

the end covers for the side rear windows are faded too so i am gonna get them done in black so it looks like the windows go all the way back.

so all in all the yellow doesn't appear to fade as much as red which is a good thing.

Have a talk to Chuckie, his car has been in WA for about 18 months, didn't see any issues with the paint the other night.....(I swear that the yellow is even brighter at night).

I don't think that you will find an RS4S (manual) with leather.... they come with a different interior cloth of their own. It is similar to the Autech cloth and also similar to the GTR in texture.

It's a woven polyester...

The only way that you'd find a leather interior is as an option, ('cept I don't think it even came as an option) or by finding an auto that's been converted... (careful!!).

Yellow is also an S2 colour only.... be prepared to pay a premium for the RS4S. Allow about $20,000 all up, you should be able to find a good one, as far as I have seen they are still selling over the Million yen mark.

If you mean suede when you say leather, this is the standard trim for a manual.

If you mean normal shiny leather you'll have to get them changed...

Just so you know what you're up against approx 6-7% of c34's are factory manuals

of those approx 85% are 4wd and about 1% of those have sunroofs you can imagine how many of those are yellow...

Good luck with the search!

These are approximations feel free anyone to make corrections :(

As mentioned the only problems ive had with the yellow are the fact that the bonnet and plastic parts fade faster than the rest of the car.

Car still looks good though!

Ive also had trouble with the clear coat coming off my bonnet :), although i think this may be due to the product i have been using on it rather than the paint quality.

Theres currently a handful of yellow stageas for sale in NZ, however, none are manual :(

with regard to havin any paint rework done all you need to say to the repairer is that you have used a silicon based product and they put these wonderful little things called "silicon drops" into the paint mix and viola all good!

i ahve not had any issues before with repairs etc once ive told em i use mr sheen etc on my paint work.

i have been using it on bikes and cars for the last 20 years after i started using it on my motorcross bikes when i was 15 to keep the plastics looking good, keeps bugs from sticking as hard too, and with the prevelence of water restrictions it is a godsend cos when it finally does rain i can get out in it with a sponge and give it a wipe over and pretty much clean, save for heavier stuff it requires a bit of soapy stuff and all good.
