i duno its wierd cause it seems as it different with everyone i talk to, but because of this reason 2 of my mates called vic roads within the last year and both got told that if your licence is suspended not canceled then there is no time added onto your licence, there may be other reasons why people have lost their licence and not had them suspeneded, but even excessive speeding ie 30kms +over is still only a suspention until you get to over 45 over then u can go to jail lol.

Best way to find out is call vic roads and ask cause everyone has different experiences

Your P's only get extended in some situations.

If you lose you license due to losing your point and choose the 3 month suspension rather than the 1 year probation then the P's aren't extended.

I took the 3 month suspension a few years ago ( speeding and not displaying P's, 6 points in one go!)

I THOUGHT my P's had been extended by 3 months until I got "randomly" pulled over in my 180 and got done for Driving Unlicensed!

Not likely..

When my suspension ended, 3 month suspension and they didn't send me my license back.

Rocked up to VIC Roads 1 week after suspension finished and asked for my license back, they said it gets sent to Kew. So I'm like well call Kew because I want it back, I can't drive without it..

They called Kew and they'd lost it?

Wanted me to pay for a new one..

Abused the lady good and she did a replacement for me, no charge as they lost my old one.

vicroads are fcuked. starting saturday ima start driving, if they dont send me back my license on time thats their problem. my suspension was for 6 months and i've served it. kthx

Suspension of P plates adds another 6 months to the total time for your P's. My probationary license was suspended for 1 month and when I got it and it added 6 months onto the total time on my P's.

my mate lost his P's for 12 months then 3 weeks after getting it back lost it again for 3 months and still got his full license when his probationary expired. no extensions...

So in the cases of some forum users, by receiving a ban, it has meant you spend less time on the road under P plate licensing than if you had adhered to the law as your probationary period hasnt been extended?

yeh sorta, its pretty shit like that mate i was talking bout earlier hes going to have spent 19 months off the road during his 3 years on his p's and still gets his full licence and he went n bought a modded WRX asking for trouble if u ask me.

I know exactly how you feel... my 7 month sentence is also coming to an end... March is the big day for me... got 6 months for lost of demerit points then an extra one for going to court - it's freaked... but hey... soon now...

Congratulations... just learn from your lesson and don't do anything silly again!!

^^ march isnt far away time will fly by dude. and dont worry lesson learnt :ninja:

no no im goin manual :)

Yeah, I know... but bugger me... taking so long... I am hanging for it badly... congrats again mate... funny how the law has it's way to scare us.... ha ha ha

just rang em now, he said they'll send it out tomorrow so should get it monday or tuesday :ermm:

also asked if probationary gets extended if its been suspended he said if its a demerit suspension then it doesn't get added on, only cancelation of license gets added on.

that means i'm off Ps on tuesday :D:D:D

    • Oh man what a deal.... Funny enough (well not really) I sold a car to some old dude (buying for his Daughter) on a Saturday, He asked if she could take the car now and pay me the money on Monday as the bank wasn't open. Needless to say I told them to come back with the cash or get f**ked! Luckily the money seemed to magically appear in his pocket a few minutes later, so it all ended well (for me).
    • Gucci bags tend to hold their value well, so someone’s definitely going to get a nice find here.
    • @Ozdavroz Not going to get a better deal than that. Cash up front and ongoing payments. 🤑
    • I wouldn't even move it like gTSBoy is saying. I'd seriously do what Duncan is saying. Unplug the injectors, and unplug the fuel pump.  Pull the spark plugs out. Have a look in quickly with a bore scope if you want. At most, you can't spray a bit of oil into the bores so there is lubricant in there while you crank it. (Don't fill it, as it's only going to enter the exhaust, or spit at you out the spark plugs holes. Before cranking the engine on the starter, after a 5 year sit I'd probably prime the oil system manually. Easiest way to do so is to look at buying an oil filter relocation block, fit it to the engine. The pressure line going into the engine on this block you can then shove into some sort of oil pump, or put it into a bottle, with that hose going to the bottom. Fill bottle up with oil. Now seal the bottle and add a compressed air line to the top of the bottle. Feed compressed air in, about 20psi will be PLENTY. This will pump oil through the motor. Be aware, it also means it will drain back to the sump, so make sure you don't end up over filling the motor Now bolt the old oil setup back on (or fully install the remote filter system).   This way you've at least pushed fresh oil everywhere, then you're letting the motor crank to then do its own oiling. Then I'd tap the key to make sure it can start to crank, if the motor free bumps, then I'd just hit the key and let it crank. After letting it crank and seeing you can get real engine oil pressure, put new spark plugs in, reconnect the fuel system electrics, and send it.   Additionally, you can look to remove the fuel feed line to the rail, and divert it to a tank so you can get the bottom of the tank shit out, and just incase there's some crud sitting anywhere that gets passed the fuel filter (or is already ahead of it).   If fuel injection at the injectors ends up appearing to be a problem, you can dump the injectors into an ultrasonic cleaner for a quick flush clean out. Note this isn't as good as new injectors, or getting them pro cleaned and flowed
    • All I can say is, that's still bloody awesome! No plans on caging it I'm guessing?
