Ok so some time ago i got a new set of splitfires, which about 6 months later started to die, sent back got a full replacement. The new ones have been on for 2 months, and every now and then, i get a strange misfire, on like one cylinder, a pop for a split second and then all fine.

The car is as per sig, running 16 psi boost and BKR6EYA plugs gapped at .8 mm. I have a cam gear installed and new timming belt etc.

I was wondering if there is anything i should be checking in the car, like earthing to coils or something, surley there must be something i can do.

The missfire usually occurs in the morning, and is gone by the afternoon, and uauslly mid rpm not top rpm.

The misfire is random, like when you ate coming out of a corner at low TP% and open her up, it goes POP out teh exhaust and away she goes.

Usually about the 4000 rpm mark.

I have already replaced everything but computer, including injector and coil loom, AFM, TP, temp sensors, cas ect.

How are your cam cover gaskets? Is ther evidence of them leaking? Have you cleaned the coilpacks and boots? Its not happening immediately, so It could be after its built up over time :D

Are you still running that chipped ECU?

The one we've told you to get rid of or properly tuned? in all of your threads just about?

Also, what are the intake temps like?

No doubt your just making hot air @ 15psi on the stocker turbo.

Its clearly evident when you made 10rwkw with 3psi extra that your well beyond the turbo's efficiency point and running the extra 3psi is useless.

So back the boost off to a reasonable level while your there.

yes it's runing teh ecu, becuase the ecu has been checked and run on another car and it is fine, it runs fine on that car.

I tried a PFC and made no differance, the car went worse to tell you the truth, but the map was propably not the best.

As for turbo efficiency, i have no idea why but mine keeps making power, not sure what level, but i second if you stomp on it abouve 4500 rpm she will break out inot wheel spin, so clearly making decent power.

I know the turbo is past it's efficiency point, but she simply keeps going.

Inlet temps i would have to say are rather low, this is tassie and a big FMIC keeps the temps down a lot.

Every car is different...so if an ecu works fine on one car it doesn't mean it will work just as well on another...and the PFC you tried...was that tuned with your car? if not then that test tells you nothing...

Ans as for the turbo...like nismoid said...its probably past that efficiency...yes it makes decent power...but at what expense...if its a stocker you'll probably be picking the exhaust wheel out of the cat at some point...drop boost 2-3psi and get a proper tune with some sort of decent engine management...

I know the turbo is past it's efficiency point, but she simply keeps going.

If you've added 3psi and only attained 10rwkw, then it simply isnt 'going'.

Its clearly run out of its legs, and a sensible man would back off and keep it happy.

ok point taken running out of uff, BUT whay the misfire, anyone.

That is the main question here.

And teh turbo has been on for 16 months, at 12-14 an dnow 15 psi day in day out, and it simply will not die.

yeah new plugs disapears, but this dosen't always happen, the miss that is, but new plugs solve it for a week and then it begins to do it. BUT the missfire is VERY random.

As to ecconomy i get about, 350 or so arround town, all stop start in tassie, with VERY liberal use of teh Right Foot.
