hmm, seen that car in the magazine somewhere, imports? or hpi? can't remember, but yer, read all about it, but in the end it's that SR20 that sheets me off.....cmon mate, u want something starts with "RB"......

RB > SR

"legal" in NSW and registerable in SA are two completely different things.

We don't do mod plates here for a start, and an engineer's certificate still doesn't stop a police officer for defecting the vehicle for suspicion of non compliance.

You have next to no chance of getting that registered and keeping it on the road here, sorry.

I agree, but forget about whether or not you can get it through Regency, do you really like the "Kermit with a Skirt" look?

Why don't you look for something that looks a bit tougher, even if it's a cheaper stocky (or near stock) that you can do the mods yourself.

I always appreciate the mods I do myself than the ready made ones and you get to experience the difference each mod makes.

Yes I wouldnt mind a car that is stock.

but ive been through that b4 . for once i want a car already done up right.

I will have diff wheels. obviously those huge wheels are illegal.

sorry mate but that pic looks like it has the intercooler piping going through a hole cut in the body - that needs to be welded up prior to Regency. The certificate you have there says the fibreglass bonnet is legal - babow in SA - no fibreglass bonnets can be engineered due to different safety laws - these are just the tip of the iceberg. This car is a whole boat load of trouble - I would imagine a Regency inspector having a FIT when he sees an Sr20 in a Skyline (and yes they definitely know).

Ive spoken to regency. and read.

SR20 can go through. the upgraded turbo can also. but need a

extensive engineer certificate. not just mod plates.

he was a real nice guy on the phone , not.

rude from the start he was. thats jsut regency.

If this guy cant show me extensive engineer reports stating

the car is safe I aint going through with it.

buy my R34 4 door off me instead - I will happily give it up for the right $$ and buy myself an R34GTR :D 230rwkw is nothing to be sneezed at!

just do it like I did Andrew

you only live once...cant take the $ with you

umm fluoro green, would look nice with flick's orange and 4drty2 blue

Not sure about the SR, but the car looks awesome!! I want it! It screams "drift me, biatch" :D

In my opinion, getting a car like that, will be a headache....regency...police...thieves...joyriders...jealous bogans...you name it.

There has to be more well built cars out there that dont attract so much attention....perhaps something with an RB in it too...hahaha

Or you could get it for track use only, and get a permit everynow and then to drive it around town and then sell it back to someone in NSW when you get sick of it.

coming from an old school skyline point of view, if something like my 31 was a magnet for cops, that thing would be on their radar from miles off

as has been said, theres inconsistencies between states and what is legal and what isnt. theres no national system unfortunately

QLD mod plates dont count for shit here

RTA NSW roadworthy doesnt count for shit

VicRoads roadworthy doesnt count for shit

etc etc

If you think its worth it, bring it over, get it engineered here, but they wont be able to engineer a lot of the stuff thats on there. Then its not worth doing if you're goin to engineer it with something different to whats running around, as its just asking for trouble

skid car: yes

street car: unless ya got a legit way of keeping it regod interstate (ie holding an interstate licence and having it regod in the same state too) good luck

yeah would love to Andy, but a 6 week old son, and wife off work for 6 months makes it harder to part with the cash - especially when I am so happy with the R34 atm - it is so much fun.

But for the right $$$ I would do the deal!

lol at even the thought of that passing a regency roadworthy inspection, id buy nightcrawler's and give that the gay spray paint and kit. oh and the sr20 instead of the rb25? thats just, well stupid. look at that power curve, compare it to a rb25 running the same power.

geeeeeeee.

I came on here for some mature answers.

not answers explaining , gay paint etc.

alot of 'know it alls' by the look.

lol

easy answer, no way in hell would you be able to pass regency inspections

well, thats how I see it

too much trouble for what it is worth.

as soon as it has a different engine (ie SR compared to RB) and its an interstate rego vehicle; too much heartache

shed burn a hole in your pocket before you even get to legally drive it

get something local

or get something interstate only mildly modified.
