Hi guys, my car has no receiver dryer and no ac fan, and constantly pumps unstoppable hot air through the vents. I'm really not mechanically minded so could someone explain to me wtf is going on and how i can get it fixed cause i have no idea where to start.

have u checked that the switch for where the air comes from is not set onto outside air..U know the switch where u can change it from outside air to recirculating air already inside the cabin..

if u have it to outside air no matter if the a/c is off air will still come thru

vinnie is right, turn it on, and press recirculate so that the green (?) light comes on. let it change over to recirculate and turn it off. then never touch it again lol

yeah tried that, does nothing.

If the interior air sensor is disconnected you will only get hot air so my guess is that it will be either faulty or disconnected. If you find its connected try running the climate control diagnostic to see if its faulty. Common thing to find with your symptoms. The sensor is located on the center console facia behind where there is a small vent in it. Pull it off and you will see what i mean. If you need pics, i can arrange them.

Deren

i have same problem but i have aircon. I cant get it to recirculating. Would it be either the switch or the motor that powers the flap? If so, how hard is it to get to the motor?

Thanks

Sounds like one of your motors are dead. Either the motor which controls the hot/cold air or the face/feet/etc direction motor or both!

Try the diagnostic first to see what it tells you. The motors are located behind the dash and it requires you to take everything out to replace them.

Hi.

What Deren is referring to is the sensor which is behind the 4 slits located beside the ash tray. To check the sensor is connected remove the ash tray look and you will see the sensor on the right hand side. Locate the wires coming from it and if it is not connected fish around and find the other connector- you cannot go wrong as all the connectors only fit one thing. Hopefully this should fix the problem. If you have any work done to your car recently ie clutch or new stereo equipment it is usually the cause as professinals?? who do the work like to remove the surround which goes around the centre dash equipment and neglect to connect this or the cigarette lighter wires. Hope this helps.

There is another sensor located in the engine compartment on the firewall behind the engine although is not normally a problem unless you have been playing around in that area.

man, this thread has reminded me how hot R32 GT-Rs are when the weather is warm.

even with the vent set to recirc, the heat that comes through the firewall and floorpan when you drive it for a while is annoying

you could always try the simplest solution and see if all the vacuum lines are connected at the back of the climate control panel - don't laugh, I had the exact symptoms you described - checked everything they pulled the stero out again and found i'd knocked the lines off. 5 minute job and problem solved. i had added a new head unit.

My 32 GTR was the same - constantly blowing hot air, even with it set to recirculation... this thread helped me fix mine - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...old-t93814.html :D

R32's dont use vacuum to control vents etc. Its all electronic with motors doing the work. Sounds like its actually quite easy to see the connecter as our12 described. Check that out. Good chance its the cause. If not its a good place to start anyway. Process of elimination.

Deren

behind the stereo surround/console theres a plastic line it hink its for the climate control.

i left mine off by accident once and it kept blowing hot air in, connected it back up and air was normal :P

yes there is the intake temp hose behind the dash just to the right of the air con panel,if that falls off or if you have pulled the dash out it blows just hot air

    • Yeah based on old XRC5964S specs, it looks to be roughly GTX3576R sized? But this 5964S compressor will flow 90lb airflow somewhat similar to the compressors in both the GTX3584RS or G35-1050.. I fully expected the 0.64 rear A/R to choke up top - seems way too small from typical convention - but these are seemingly beneficial over the prior 0.82 results.. Be interesting to see if he comments on the EFR question in that thread - he mentioned in a prior video that BW EFR's were the "cats pajamas 10 years ago", but by the sounds of things all his kits have been using Xona for quite a while now.
    • Yeah it’s still got the oem manual gearbox and clutch, only kinda mods are a blow off valve, coil overs, and a aftermarket intercooler. Also had it for about 2 months now with a lovely midnight purple paint on it.
    • Yeeeppp, been following a lot of the testing on the latest Xona stuff and there are some mental results.  He also went over 1000hp @ 4 hubs on his Mainline with a XRE6364S (63mm) which was also well into the 20psi range before 4000rpm on a 2.5. Crazy stuff. Fwiw the XRE5964S is basically the modern equivalent of their old HTA3582 - would drive nicely enough on an RB25 or 26, but proven capable of a huge amount of power if you want to spicy with rpm tho even at sane boost levels will make stout numbers
    • The axels in my R33 seem tired, and have a bit of play in them. I cannot find any new of course, not interested in buying used, but I am looking to see if anyone can identify some cross compatible axles. In the states I have seen suggested for S chassis the J30 axles, however for the skyline (as best I can tell) the lengths are about an inch off (2.5cm) on both sides. R33 my measure L 22" R 24.5" GPT L 22.5" 24.25" J30 L 23.5" 25.5"  so shaft length is probably an inch wider. Not sure if someone has another still remanufactured option besides the J30. I figured worst case I can buy a pair tear them down and swap the center shaft. My other option was reaching out to GSP to see if they cannot piece together a set, since the axle stubs are still manufactured, I wouldn't think it be that hard to find a shaft or make a shaft work.
    • Potentially some interesting data for some of you here; Hank Iroz from Iroz Motorsport testing a new Xona Rotor 5964S on a Audi RS3 2.5L DAZA motor. https://facebook.com/share/p/14EU18MyDqZ/ Cliff Notes: Turbo has the new Xona XRE compressor aero with an X4C compressor cover, reportedly 0.64 rear housing. 900whp (670kw) @ 37psi, 170k shaft speed, motor is making 2bar (29psi) boost by roughly 3800rpm, 500lbft (670nm) torque by 3500rpm. They overlaid a stock RS3 on USA 91 fuel (red), and a "Stage 2" RS3 on E85 (yellow), and this 5964S (blue) - the 5964S isn't losing any ground to either. Apparently out-flowing their prior tests with a Xona 8264S (green), and this 5964S (white) also has a smaller A/R than that did.
