jaycar has a "air fuel" guage thing which is basically a series of LED's which indicate rich or lean.. there is an article on autospeed somewhere. Other alternative is just an aftermarket guage - very useful if u want to tune yourself.

Pro tuners usually just use a "microphone" (or close to), attached to the block to listen directly.

OK, found some info:

Sensor output is 0-1 V, so forget putting a globe in parallel as it might cause enough voltage drop to prevent the correct sensor signal reaching the ecu.

I have been told that a VU meter type kit, similar to that used to display the output from a tape player can be adapted to do this job. Jaycar does have a kit for doing this apparently.

Could always get a multimeter set to a low scale and use that too.

You could also use the Air fuel ratio kit from jaycar as an oxygen sensor also outputs 0 > 1 volt. And just invert the output so that the green end of the scale becomes the low knock end as it is now working in the oposite!

Might have a chat to microtech as there tuning software has this display on the screen, i'd just read it in reverse!

How sure are you that they ouput only 1volt.
