Turbo timer... when mine was going through compliance I just disconnected one plug + 1 ground wire and removed the unit. Easy.

Have the electrician remove the previous alarm when you have the new one install at the same time... usually works out cheaper.

Should be well under $100 to remove the turbo timer (it is a 30 minute job at worst). Or do it yourself and leave the wiring in there.

Agree - get the installer of your new alarm to remove the old one - while the car is in 1000 pieces is the cheapest and easiest way to remove the old, then reinstall a new alarm

for regency i just unplugged it from teh loom. and then hid the cables up near the steering column underneath the plastic (as mine was located near the steering column). At worst, just do this and leave the loom in. Then you can plug it in whenever you want.

I moved mine to the glovebox along with my boost controller so they werent obvious in the even i get pulled over.

cheers for the advice guys

Dude seriously........ Exposing the ingition wires doesn't matter..... If they want it they don't care about plastic, they smash it!!

Also there will be other things on the car that will get you defected anyways, But hey its your car and if you don't want it on there then i'm not gonna stop you!!

I've heard of more stupider things done with turbo timer so yeh.............

Yeh there was a thread about buying cars from interstate and getting them rego'd here and going thru Sturt!! I'm not sure exactly what times or days they are open but someone here will be able to tell you!!

Yeah Wed & Thur you can go to Sturt without an appointment for a Vin & Engine No inspection only if it's an interstate car.

Yup

+1

between 9am - 3am 2yrs ago, not sure about it now.

I thought it was tues and thursday only, but I cant remember, wed + thur is probably is !

rock up, wait, have all paperwork, and make the car look as stock as possible inside the engine bay / dash / outside body
