hey guys finialy got my stagea up and running .after my upgrades .

first of all i would like to thank advan performance i couldn t recomend anyone else to tune a car .they are the freindlyest people and keep you well informed of whats going on with the tune and what is holding it back.

on its highest power run it ran 255 awk.at 19psi.

they advised me that my turbo was holding anymore power back as it isnt a dedecated externial gate turbo and has a stupid reducer on it for the dump pipe.

as my car is still running standard bottom end they advised a down tune slightly .so it is now pulling 225.8 awk at 16psi to make it safe and have no chance of engine failure.

after it taking so long to finish the mods i am happy as well worth it and the tune was cheap for what they done .

they wired in my z32 set up my e boost and they wiring for my fuel pump shorted out they also repaired that and tuned for under $1000 which i think is cheap.

my mods are high mount gt34r turbo/550 injectors /power fc/sard externial fuel reg/teal 38mm ext gate/e boost 2/z32 air mass meter /front mount cooler /and 3 and a half inch zorst turbo back.

now going a gt35r/forged internials and custom intake which advan are going to make me .and 800cc injectors eventualy .

any way a big thanks to advan /pete and they guys for the tune very happy with it. cheers bernard .

awesome effort there.. and good to see you were not just " chasing a number "and chose the less horsepower but more reliability route.

the car must feel nice and rapid now.

shame you cant take me for a rap , but in hindsight its probably a good thing as it would just

depress me that I dont have the $$ to get ours up to scratch

hey stink belive it or not i have to drive it 450 k home and i gave it a flogging and it still got 10 litres to the hundred at a min speed of 100 max of 175 in parts had to try it out it hooks up big time and pushes you into the seat will post up the graphs tomorrow i have 3 boost settings graphs first quick run then 14,5 and 16psi they didnt save the 19psi 155kw one as they only done it to see where it maxed and then down tuned but didnt see the sense in spending more money to do it again to get a piece of paper .

OK Now when are you going to give it back bernard............. <sobs uncontrollably>

I knew it was good for 250awkw, great to hear, i really did appreciate your call, and all the help you have given me so far in my quest to find an affordable peoplemover.......... I know I will miss my stagea for a VERY long time................

Time for a quarter mile time? I am guessing maybe low 13's high 12's?

Well done!

I was recently told by some guy in the skyline section that a stagea running 16psi would still be a big slow "whaling boat" and couldn't beat anything...

if only they knew hey...

Great effort mate! All the best with the next upgrade...making us all jealous!

;)

haha my stagea is making 550rwhp+ on 16psi on pump fuel so i think that would shut the skyline lads up abit, the stageas arnt that heavy compared to r34 gtr's etc, they dont understand the flexability of the wagons :domokun:

So when can I have it back Bernard? <drops to the gound crying> Nah in all honesty I am glad Bernard did buy it, he has taken it to the next level, where i would not have been able to afford to take it there, ever.......... Also I know it wont get wrapped around a power pole.

Thanks for treating my baby they way it should've been dude!

does the way it builds boost look odd to anyone else? I mean dont get me wrong.. its an awesome result just befuddled by the boost curve.. looks almost like its running the high/low boost settings still

unless that was to " tone down " the turbo spooling up ( ie if boost came on too savage)

and dale.. where did you see the torque reading?

thanks guys it was alot of stress but it payed off but hopefuly mid next year it will crack the 300awk mark need some more killer wasps ha ha. thanks again cy for this beautiful car .and hope to do ya proud at 300awk will even drive to rocky to take you for a spin mate. and if anyone is going to mod there stagea apparently they have a neo head that what advan told me a had so much trouble cause i bought everything for a r33 as i thought it would fit .

but i've already got a curve like that dale...

is it auto or manual?

and with the turbo, what if you remove the actuator and weld up the internal gate, and then have an external gate on your manifold? it might just save you from forking out for a new turbo again, especially if you are staying with the GT35R.

edit: i'm not to sure about it having a NEO head... what did you buy that didnt fit?

    • Dropped the MX5 of this morning to get the hardtop colour matched and some PDR done, they are also going to give it a buff to remove some "stubborn" swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat Over the last few months the poor little thing has copped some shopping centre car park abuse, I try to not park in them, but hitting Westfield's a few times over the last few months has taken its toll, nothing really bad, but enough of a trigger for a "while we're in there" thingie  Once it's back and all the one colour, with a few dents and mark's removed I'll give some of these products a go and see what they're like
    • A locally delivered Infiniti have remote start installed but don't come with the remote start key. You need a new remote start key and they just need it programed. And this is different to making/programing a new key that just starts the car.
    • Cheers, and cheers for sharing so much of the build and also sharing the glimpse of what turns out to bring a lot of us poor decision makers together haha.  I do recommend learning more about how to manage it, if not considering getting a  formal diagnosis.  The discussion with the psychiatrist I got my diagnosis through was quite eye opening, things I'd not even considered to be ADHD related and hadn't mentioned were things she asked about out of the blue and were common themes with people with my flavour of ADHD.   It's not a label for people who are hyperactive and ill-attentive, there's more to it than that and some of it can be much more challenging or damaging - though there are of course two sides to the thing, and a lot of the stuff we have to go through and work on to live with it make us effectively "better" at other things as well. Aside from the fact that there is some argument I could have a bit of ASD seasoning in there (came up during the diagnosis, and neurodiverse things seem to not stay as a cookie cut) I suspect you need to learn more about ADHD if you are puzzled about how hyperfocus could possibly apply.  I *do* personally use "superpower" with quotes deliberately, but it's 100% an ADHD thing due to the exact reason that lack of focus is also an ADHD thing... Loosely speaking the inattentive side of ADHD isn't the inability to focus, it's the inability to control where the focus goes.  Not being able to sleep because brain is more interested in thinking about a stupid thing I said to a girl I liked 30 years ago, not being able to focus on work because my brain is more keen on putting together the torque management strategy we're going to try out with a drag car next weekend, not being able to focus on a conversation with someone I WANT to listen to and respect because there is a flickering light in my peripheral vision.    If I could just stop work and build the torque management setup right there and then I'd not hear anything else until it was done.
    • Maybe you should do some more reading.  Google positive effects of ADHD and you'll get your answers.  One of my personal downsides of ADHD has been talking before I think.   Maybe you have it too?
