EVC 3 relocation - possible?

Hi,

got an EVC 3 installed a while back, and it was placed facing up at me between the drivers seat and the central console...I can't see anything to be honest.

The wires run in around the gear stick, under the leather and my question is, if I wanted to move it to a more visually accessible place, would it hafta be reset and tuned again?

the connection is under the gearstick leather. SO if I disconnect it, i can move the damn thing into a place where I can see it, and reconnect.

I don't want to do it unless it's ok.

Any ideas? Anyone done this before?

Usually all your aftermarket gizmos have a little CMOS inside (powered by a battery) and remember all your settings even when there is no power. Like how it it works when your car is off basically :-)

Pulled apart and disconnected my S-AFC a few times, and there is a little watch-type battery in there.

Should be fine so long as it;'s not unplugged for an extended peiod of time... even then the normally fine.

i'll go ahead n relocate it. Gets annoying when u got it, but u can't even look at the display
