lach 32
pretty sure it's illegal, as it's going to cause alot more damage to someone if you hit them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3531732 Share on other sites

bubba
When I got the yellow sticker one of the items was no front grill.. If I can't not have a front grill I don't think they're going to let you get away with no bumper! NISZILA
Yep... illiegal. I know a guy who had an accident that ripped half his front bumper off. Cops gave him a yellow at the accident site to fix the front bumper. showbizz
yeap illegal, cant go driving around without a front bar they will slap ya with a nice yellow decal to suit (as it will look like you just drove out of a nice minor front ender and your bar was left at the scene) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3532719 Share on other sites
bryno
Just because it might do more damage wouldn't make it illegal.. Bull bars are legal. But pedestrians would probably get sliced up when you try to run them over I guess Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3532854 Share on other sites
hazerb30
Ill be driving my 32r around without a bumper to workshops over the next couple days. If cops pull me over ill be explaining the troubleshooting process.. theyd have to be bastards to sticker it. Trouble is.. they just sticker you for anything so its a risk. Dingus
If you need to take it off and on over the next couple of days, just cable tie it in place temporarily. Will make it easy to take it off, and no hassle from cops for no front bar. Kaido_RR
if your just driving home from a workshop without a frontbar im sure it will be ok. just drive normal, and if i cop pulls you over explain it just come from the workshop etc... i did it when i had to tow the car to the workshop then i was able to drive it home (took off the frontbar to make it easier for the tow-truck) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3533236 Share on other sites

Daniel R32
I drove around in my old car (VT wagon) for a week or 2 without a front bumper. Didnt have any problems. . not sure if cops saw me or not but didnt get pulled over while it was off. But yeah im pretty sure it is illegal for reasons like dan mentioned. And yeah im pretty sure no bonnet is illegal too Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3533304 Share on other sites

What. f**k. The. I would imagine it to be as legal as driving without doors on the car. And in case you are serious that you don't leave your car at a workshop to be worked on, isn't the smartest idea to drive without a bonnet with all your wiring, spinning belts & fans & everything else exposed. bubba
What's worse? not being able to shut your bonnet completely, or no bonnet at all? *smirk* Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3533830 Share on other sites
Mr. Keets
Its all illegal, as Dan put it...over the roof and a cool story or loose the legs. Have a look at a street driven hotrod like a T-bucket... blacked out fenders...and the plods give them easier time than imports. *...must be something to do with age* Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197586-front-bumper-illegal-to-drive-without/#findComment-3534055 Share on other sites
