Munkyboy - That is perfect! I wasn't thinking of a lighter silver than the bump strip but that works so well, in a factory kind of way! What silver did you use? Or it's just a colour from the chart?

I've got no idea what silver i used. it was just some random combination of RGBs. but i'm glad it helped you out :whistling:

I'm going to talk to a mate of mine who works in a paint shop. I want to try and stay with a factory Nissan colour, just for sheer simplicity! I need a pale silver, prefer metallic. He owes me anyway, I did his FMIC pipework for him for nothing!

Oh, my wife actually likes the white/yellow combo. Said it makes it look like a hot rod ('32 Hi-Boy paintjob!).

Cheers, Greg.

I'd kill for those rims! But the lower colour is a bit to bronze for my liking. Anybody got a sample of the R34 silver?

The more people are playing with these colour combo's, the sooner I want to fix up the dent and scratches and get cracking with the spray gun!

Cheers, Greg.

Spank spank!!!! Loving that 2nd pic!

I'm definately thinking the R34 Silver is the way to go!

And as for the graphics, sorry to say, as good as I am, photoshop work is thing I leave to others! I'm just purely retarded at that stuff! :whistling::)

I actually got the idea for the yellow from a hot rod haha... thats how i was going to paint my ford. I reckon seeing as you have to repaint it anyway, why not spend the extra few hundred and go that little further...?

But i understand... the missus... car away for one day etc... such a shame. Whenwhite over bayside blue looks so nice.... its KINDA factory colour!

Hello all, I'm not sure if you've got around to the respray yet, but I was thinking about a two tone Stagea amd found this topic. So you got me all enthusiastic so I've put 3 colour combo's together. I was thinking the lower colour would extend over the full rear of the car to balance it with the front...

First, time I've tried to attach a pic so I hope it works!

Cheers,

Jeff

Im liking the last one best. :)

tidy job with the photoshop. Why would you not have it follow the bodyline to the front...? Looks a bit sharper than my quick effort! Pity about the colours tho.... :-(

Id probably run a silver pin stripe with the yellow or blue ones i did.

Well there was already an example with the two tone following the bodyline, so it was just to be a tad different! :) I can do some more tomorrow, so if you have a colour combo that you'd like to see, its fairly easy for me to do since its all already cut out in photoshop. So a yellow or blue and silver or black? I'll give it a go and get back to you.

Cheers,

Jeff

Fair enough jeff! makes sense.

Im actually about 2 weeks from buying a black or a silver series two (the model i photoshopped - note the different headlights) and would love to do something different on it like a half body two tone.

If you could do a neat white over bayside blue or chrome yellow, both with the silver pinstripe (probably only 7-8mm) thatd be awesome!

Not sure what youd go with a black... youd run the black as a bottom colour and maybe go a dark purple like the R33 GTR midnight purple on top...? Slightly lighter purple for the stripe?

What other colour could you go on top with black as a bottom? Maybe a light misty orange/silver colour....? With a darker orange in the pin stripe...??

Ok, firstly I better say that I did these recolours from pics of MyStag260's car, its a schmicho example and he had some good pics with the angles I wanted. So, I hope you dont mind MyStag260!! Anyways, I've changed the two tone line a little, which I think fits the body shape nicely, well, I like them anyways! Stagecoach, I've tried some yellow and blue for you too. ;) Ok, heaps of eye candy, apologies to dial-uppers....

Just thought I'd also add a more detailed custom respray job. If only I had the money.... Anywhays, here's whats been done. Brake lights have been lightly smoked, drivers window tinted, and a few inches of the roof, old school style :worship: I've also lowered the car somewhat and tinted the wheels to match the paint. Hope you like it all!

Here's my effort for your consideration. Thanks to RB26Stagea's car!! :P

Added new shade....

My car! What have you done?! That's the LAST time I use Valet parking!

Anyways, can someone do a pearl white with black roof - a-la-S13 style?? I have to have mine resprayed shortly, when I get the rust cut out of the doors, and was toying with the black roof and a/b/c pillars idea.

My main concern is what the rear hatch will look like with only the top half black: may be a little.....'dinky'.

Here's some raw material (with nicer indicators, tail lights and ride height, if I do say so myself!)

    • Reading your posts Josh, sometimes I feel like I've gone in a time machine back to the 90's when everyone was doe-eyed and figuring things out for the first time.  I've lost track of how many single turbo GTR's I've seen on track that haven't burnt down lol. Everything has been figured out a long time ago. These things are at the point now where its essentially turn-key to go single turbo.
    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
