spray the internal element with CO contact cleaner (available from electronic parts shops)

never agitate the sensing element with your finger, a brush, or anything abrasive

yep spray with contact cleaner but be gentle with the spray and leave to dry.

make sure the AFM is cold(best done when the car hasnt been driven overnight!

get a contact cleaner for VHS tape heads etc... one that comes with a long thin tube so you can get into tricky spots... poke a tiny hole in the mesh so the tube can get thru... slide the tube in till its about 1cm away from the sensing element... spray it a little, let it dry, then repeat. Pull the tube out and try your AFM out.

Just incase it wasn't obvious.

REMOVE AFM FROM CAR FIRST.

then spray the Contact Cleaner on to the INSIDE of the unit.

make sure you get the little element probe that sticks out on the inside.

it dries in like 10 seconds.

put it all back on the car and that it is.
