Hey guys.

Ive just finished doing a RB25det conversion on my R32 GTS4, and i have the old RB20det sitting in my shed. Now that my car is pretty much finished i plan on rebuilding the 20 myself as a side project and learning curve. Only thing is i dont want to run AWD on this engine (no torque + AWD sucks).

Now i know there is a thread around here somewhere concluding the difference between the AWD and 2WD sump differences as ive seen it before. but searched before and couldnt find it?

So my questions are;

- although im pretty sure the bolt patterns are different between the 2 sumps (AWD & 2WD) can someone confirm this?

- Are the RB26dett sump bolt patterns the same as the 20 and 25 patterns? if so ill just locate an aftermarket TRUST RWD sump that alot of 26's are using these days

Cheers

not sure. thats why im putting the question out there. URAS what sump are you using on the RB26 powered silvia drifter?

std rb26 with Tomei baffle and the diffs removed... easy job done at home.

yes they are the same as ive put a rb20det sump on a rb26dett but u will need to mod the sump as the rb20/26 4wd blocks run the oil pick up in a different location to the rwd ones

so the side of the rwd rb20 sump will foul on the oil pick up and no u just cant tap the oil pick up over

the easyist way to do it is do remove the front diff and shafts out of the 4wd sump and get them welded up
