Hey guys i wanted to see if I could get some ideas on what people have, or what they think about a set of coil overs. I have been in a 260rs with hypermax III and liked the feeling and I know sydney kid has a kit, but I really want to have the benefit of being able to adjust the height easily as I need to get it in the drive way and the clearance is unknown. If I go coilovers then I have to go 33 GTR. What do people recommend and what about spring rates???? And also what other brands?????

Thanks in advance.

hey mate, im riding on the super street tien's they are stiff but good, i have mine set on about half stiffness as i didn't like the feel at fully soft. It really depends on what you want? in my experience coil over suspension really only comes into use when u are cornering med-hardl or you have alot of power down while steering etc. I also think with any kind of coil overs the way they change the ride hight doesn't really matter that much, as any way of doing it is going to require you getting under the car to do it, not a 5 minute job or something you would want to do every other week so you just need to find a good height that your comfortable with and just stick with it. I have mine lowish at the front and higher at the back, looks tough from the front low (bit of a pain with driveways) but i can still stack people and equipment in the back and not have any clearance issues in the rear.

Cheers

Not getting cheap set, budget around 2.2k, The more I read I am swaying towards SK kit, I just like the idea of being able to turn a nob and stiffen or loosen the ride, I have had adj coilovers before and I never really changed the settings as once you find what setting you like then you never really change it. it just seems easier to buy and fit coilovers.

if you got a 2.2k budget. get Sk's setting with the Eibach springs. This set up its a little better then the common set up that most people in the forum use. The most common set up is with groves, circlips and white line springs. With the better set up it will be equipped with Eibach spring(the best springs you can buy) and it sits on a shoe (from memory and the height can be adjusted from the shoe. Send him an emai or a pm ask him about this set up. Go for it you would not regret it. It will be better than a TEIN coilovers Trust me!!

Blistein shocks( best shocks you can get in the market) + Eibach springs( best springs Made in germany).

how would you rate ohlins next to blistein? asking as i need to service mine or change them, service is looking to be a grand at this stage and i do like the ride they give.

i go blistein. one of my suppliers at work told me blistein shocks can be rebuilt for A$60 each. So.. . You cant go wrong with blistein. Its a german made. If i had the $$ i would go for blistein coilover which is A$3k for the whole set.

I woud assume that they are "Japanese Ohlins", made by Yamaha. Not the genuine "Swedish Ohlins" as we use in the V8 Supercars. In which case you may find it hard to get them serviced. The Ohlins Australian agent has never had any parts for the "Japanese Ohlins" whenever I have asked in the past.

What did you buy????? I se alot of people have bought SK package although I haven't heard that many people talking about them, maybe thats a good thing though. just woul like to know how the car rides before I bought a set???

33GTR front, GTST rear, going to 32GTR front to hopefully get more travel then revalve all(got a guru handy )

deciding on springs ATM

get swaybars from Gary, after a 20min convo with his son there is good reason, i got my bars for trade price, but now spendning money on Gary's rear links to fix the rear bar.

I got my shocks in a rush as i had a lot of KM to do and i had 3 blown shocks, and wasnt risking any thing with my GF on board! In hindsight, everything from Gary is the way to go.
