Wondering if anyone has cracked the OBD2 consult 2 side of the V35 yet in regard to using a P.C and Interface plugged into the consult port under the dash and can offer advice.

I have scanners that I used on other cars and interfaces but not sure how to go about accessing the internals of the V35. Consult 2 is too expensive for me.

Following on from that what can you access, what does it mean and what can you change?

I have. The OBDII protocol is no bigge it's just a standard protocol but you can't do much with it. I'm currently working on Nissan Data Scan II that will work with Consult II protocol. So far I can monitor most parameters and registers. The final product will also let you log data, adjust idle speed and ignition timing as well as reading and clearing error codes. The NDS II software and PC adaptor will be available through Blazt.biz.

Cheers,

Tom

I have the Autoenginuity Scantool and it is very limited with the V35 as JDM cars do not run the OBD-II interface, they use a different protocol, not even Nissan's Nissan Consult at a service department could talk to the car.

Consult_Protocol___Commands_Issue_6.pdfWill see as tomorrow it goes in to the local dealership. I think the issue is more the Nissan proprietry code or extensions that it uses.

The G35 guys say consult 2 works and I see no reason why it would not. I think the skill level of the Nissan Technicain comes into play here not so much the tool.

This is the Consult Protocol attached.

Yeah, thats the Consult I protocol from PLMS website prepared by Nissan Technical Group. Completely different to Consult II protocol and can't be used on our v35 Skylines.

The Consult II unit from Nissan dealership will work but do you want to spend $2500 to get one?

need someone in the USA to get it though. they will not ship outside the USA and if you email them you will end up with a call from repco here in Oz. the machine that repco offer does not work on a 2001-2004 v35 but does on a 2004.5 up.

look at the launch x413 if you want to play with the internals of that car. as for software packages - no real idea - I use scanners.

    • Hey mate, thread dredging hahah To answer you directly, yes I had my itbs oversized and custom butterflies etc made by EFI Hardware in Sydney back around 2017-2018 if memory serves. My setup had a vast amount of other changes too though, so no direct comparisons unfortunately. i went from oem itbs, HPI manifold and internal gate hks 2835 pro S; to 49mm itbs, cnc port matched Nismo plenum, RB25 Neo lower runner adapter hand port matched, r31house v2 Takoashi MAX equal length twin scroll manifold with twin 38mm tial gates and a FP HTA3076 with 1.01ar twin scroll real hosing. feom power Fc to a link fury wired by 12volt, r32 gtr fuel tank conversion with frenchys twin 460 / surge tabk fuel hanger combo kit, 1659cc injectors, full 4 inch turbo back stainless exhaust, Z34 6 speed, Tomei 2way with 4.3 final drive and a ton of other shit. ive posted elsewhere here with complete run down, but here's a graph from its initial tune with no boost control on, 20psi gate springs only and e85.   IMG_1267.mov 7542AE72-DA92-4E0B-8660-B0940FEA7F24.mov B31A1E84-C63C-433F-B910-1A09DBAE2107.mov

    • So the whole rb25de neo setup was a tiptronic setup and i swapped everything over to my rb20de neo setup and yes even the cluster of the rb25 was swapped over.
    • and I thought size mattered 😝 At this point I may either pray to the Afterpay gods and get a torque wrench or attach a water bucket to the breaker bar. I appreciate the help though 🙏🏾
