Hi there....

Fist time poster so forgive me if i seem a bit noobish...

Im just wondering how you would go about removiing a series 1 spoiler on a 1993 r33...

Asking because i have already removed the nuts and bolts, found 4 that i can see but still cant get it off.....

Now is this just because there are more bolts that i have overlooked or because of glue agents used to lock down the spoiler

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS...

I tried doing that a couple of years ago to my old skyline....didn't work for me either.

I'll b e taking the wing off of series 2 soon, so hopefully I can put my 2 c in.

There would most likely me glue or some sort of double sided tape holding it down. On my sedan's boot, the spoiler was held on pretty tight by the tape as well. Just use a little more force, it'll come off.

Hey Police and Adam, fanx 4 the quick reply guyz...

Yer i didnt want to pull to hard after i took the bolts off.... thought it might do some damange and maby rip off the paint, lol...

I heard if u heat it up abit with a hair dryer, it should lift right off ...

Either way, ill give it another go 2moro morning ...ill let u know what happens...

Good luck with yourz lingeringsoul, hope it all works out ...

On my spoiler there were only four screws. Two on each side.

Using a hair dryer or heat gun will help taking the spoiler off of the glue/sticker. You'll have to scrub off all the left over glue/sticker as well and that might scratch the paint. Doesn't matter, you'll have to get a respray when you cover up the holes anyway.

Hey Guyz....thers how it looks like with the spoiler removed, and with the remaining plastic plugs...

I just took it off this afternoon, all it needed was abit more of a push...

POLICE Posted Today, 09:17 AM it won't rip off the paint there should be rubber between the bootlid and the spoiler

Yer paint was fine, just a couple of plastic rubbers underneath, i broke one i think but should be alright since i aint gonna put it on again...

mitch33 Posted Today, 10:09 AM did you remove the grey carpet stuff from the boot lid cause from memory i think there are another two bolts under there

I didnt see any grey carpet from under the boot lid, there were only four screws from memory

Yep, only found four screws, didnt have 2 use hair dryer or heat gun either, just janked the whole thing off.

Ok now my next problem....

Im gonna need to get all the holes plugged up and get it spraded pretty soon...

I was just wondering how much this process would could.....

or if its a better idea to just buy a new boot lid dats already painted...

Ill keep in touch with how its all going...thanx guyz

get a drift wig mate, it looks nice on 33 or if u dont want a wing on ur car geta new boot that sit flat !

Yer i was thinkin of gettin a drift wing, but thats when i have more funds available, lol

For now ill stick with just fixin up the boot.... i just need some quotes on prices for sealing the holes and spraying...

To cover up the holes, some people weld up the hole and then make it all smooth then respray. Some people use bog to cover and then smoothen up, spray.

I'm not too sure as to how much this would all cost, but to weld, I'm guessing around $400?

Yer thats alright, i got probally between 400-500 dollars 2 spend on it ....

But i would still like it to be quality work, anyone know a place that can do it in the south eastern areas of melb....

Heard good things bout DT Panels in Springvale...

Yeah, always hear DT Panels come up when someones asking about a workshop. I live in the area, but have never got any work done from them. Always Jap cars out front. If you live in the area, why not drop by and ask for a closer price. Vu is the man you're supposed to see.

for $500 u can either buy drift wing for $300 and get it respray for around $200

same same mate

Would that include fitting...

Also, do all the bolts in the drift wing fit in the corresponding holes when i took off the stock spoiler or am i gonna have 2 punch a few more in my boot lid...

Yer i live up in Dandenong, not 2 far from there...

I was thinkin bout goin by there durin the next couple days, n ask 4 a quote...

Only problem is, i wanna bring one of my mates with me coz his dealt with them before coz i heard there pretty bad when it comes 2 ripping ppl off.

should bolt straight into the standard holes

Yer i might think bout it, but ive always preferred the no spoiler look, bit of personal taste there...

But hey once i feel bored with it, drift wing it is ...
