If you are going for Toyo T1R , there isn't much difference in 265X35X18 and 275X35X18, you can use either of them , 265's are 265mm wide and 275's are 271 mm wide , only 4 mm diff .

275/35ZR18 99Y 8.2 649 271 303 295 315 9.5 505 9.0 - 11.0

265/35ZR18 97Y 8.2 644 267 301 291 313 9.5 508 9.0 - 10.5

my experiences

275's on my 18x9.5 +12 TE37s, scrubbed on full lock, tracked down the highway

265's on my 19x10.5 +22 CE28Ns, wider wheel, narrower tyre, I like the stretched look though, so that helped my decision, but now no scrubbing at all, still tracks down the highway......any car with wide tyres like 265+ on the front will do this.

but in all reality its 1cm difference in width which means stuff all for traction......but I'd go 265's if I was you.

QIK....While I don't disbelieve what you are saying I feel there must've been something else to blame....do have a lot of aftermarket bits on your suspension or is the car lowered a lot?

The reason I say this is that I ran 18x10.5" +18 offset with a 285 RE55 tyre! Keep in mind the RE55 is even wider than a 285 road tyre. In a year of tracking my car and the odd drive on public roads I had no issues with rubbing. My car is only slightly lowered and is running stock suspension save for HKS coilovers.

mine is by no means LOW, it has a bit of clearance from guard to tyre and only uses coilovers, nothing fancy as far as suspension goes. I find it odd aswell, but maybe it had something to do with the offset and 275's together which is strange as the +12 9.5 is the way to go. However now on a 10.5 +22 I can turn as much as I want, and it has not touched anything, at any speeds, at any lock.....where it did with the 18s......who knows?!?!

Hmmm fair enough. Do you know what the tyre was rubbing against?

Considering the width difference between the 285 RE and 275 road tyre I wouldn't have thought that the 6mm difference in offset would matter. Also there are other guys down here that have used 10.5" wide rims with 285 RE tyres and have reported no issues.

Either way when it comes to the thread starter I'd stick to 265 or 275 tyres.

If its any help , I have had 265x35x18 tyres ( St 115, T1r's and others) on 18x10's 12 offset on stock R33 GTR suss without any issues at all.

The fronts will rub the plastic inner guard sometimes on full lock when the tyres are new but who cares, how fast are you going to be going on full lock? How often are you on full lock?

I would use either 265 or 275x35x18 .

hey, ive got bridgestone SO3 potenzza's on my r33 gtr, they are 285/30/18, my car tracks alot (when driving along the road the car will follow the road camber) which can be quite scarey when cornering, driving fast etc, the idiots at the tyre shop put some 255's on the front which fixed the tracking problem, but they put on 40 series tyre which has mucked up my tourqe split (it goes into 4 wheel drive briefly on take-off, even when driving slow) you can not buy a tyre with the same rolling diameter in a 255 (they are 6mm taller in the 30 series) from any tyre company.....and if anyone knows how to fix the tourqe split problem???? apparently bleeding it???? cheers

i was thinking of buying s03 is 285/30/18's...not a good idea???

or re55's for the street in 265/35/18's...

umm.......no on the bridgestone, just because of the tracking problem, maybe a 285 in another tyre may be ok? im going 255 proxes 4 to fix tracking problem.......

I was under the car today finishing up my Oil cooler install and noticed that my tyres only clear by about 10mm. Thats 10mm at full lock to the mud guard and about 10 mm to the sway bar (the part that is squished for clearance).

These are on my R33 GTR with 275 35 18 Toyos and R34 GTR rims. I doubt that 285 would fit or would be so close - maybe 5 mm clearance!

Just wanted to give you some more info.
