HaHa Quote of the thread!

I think if you can afford an r35 any HSV will seem a tiny dot in the rear view mirror.

Don't be too cocky ... I've got one that does an 11.300 ET on street tyres @ street pressure (obviously not stock).

No way would it stay with an R35 around corners, but I'd have it in a straight line.

Have you got a 35 On order???

great choice mate !!! the wait must be killing you and the test drives must be making your mouth water

The videos are great ... the hi-res pics when it was first released started it all off, the more I see the better it looks.

It is a long wait though, I just hope I don't overhype it and get disappointed when it arrives ... I gotta say, based on the video in this thread, I think that's pretty unlikely.

have Nissan given you any inside info ? costings $$$ ??

is it just me or do american vet drivers seem as dumb as australian hsv/fpv drivers;o lol ive seen vids of co6's getting beaten by 300zx's and turbo civics etc but yet they dont want to hear that any car can be better

also about the comment saying that the gtr couldnt go anty quiker then 11.6 and 0-60mph faster, well the article did say it was just done on some random track/road with low grip surface, with street tyres, and also mentioned that it lost alot of traction before the awd kicked in to compensate, just imagine on a track with a full redline launch with slicks!

Bunch of loosers hey! Typical Americans that Love there GMC/Ford Crap and something else comes along like a GTR and they cant accept a Import to there LANDS! oiiiiii NISSAN, stuff america, tell the Captain of the Ship full of GTR's To set Sail For AUS instead!!

Love to Know how a Family Man with a Mortgage and Wife Can Afford a New GTR!!! TELL ME THE SECRETS!!!! lol!

I could say the same for half the nissan owners on this forum. I mean what's with the constant holden/ford bashing? and bagging their owners. I've never owned a commodore or falcon but that doesn't stop me recognising that they have made some great value cars in their time. I love the new HSV senators. they look awesome, and they have a big powerful V8, nice leather interior, much improved build quality and nice, modern styling. and cost around $100K. pretty decent if you ask me.

GTRs are great but if I could afford 20 cars I wouldn't have 20 bloody GTRs in the garage. actually if I didn't spend so much coin on the GTRs I've owned I probably could have 20 cars.

I love the GTRs. They are all great in different ways. but they are not the be all, end all of world motoring.

A bunch of stiff's if you ask me,

I love my GTR's and get's me so cut when people bag them :P .

Even at my work all V8 lover's they tease me, thinking i am the dumb one thinking it's better then gts and gto's and the new R8 they are dead set serious thinking they are faster Then a GTR.

cant really compare the hsv to the gtr (gtr is in teh supa car league :P ).....unless it was the 2002 HSV HRT 427 Concept - it seems that the GTR will still beat that car (according to the figures anyway).

But, it will be interesting to see how it matches up with the replacement for the supra - apparently thats also a bit of a beast (aimed at the supercar league)

so, whos willing to make a guess on how long till we see the GTR listed among the following 10? (from supercars.net)

Top cars of 2007:

1. Bugatti 16/4 Veyron Pur Sang (Best Veryon)

2. Lamborghini Reventon (Styling Renaissance + LP640)

3. Koenigsegg CCXR Edition (1018 bhp, 1.5 million)

4. Ferrari F430 Scuderia (F430 with proper intakes)

5. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (100kg CF Diet)

6. Aston Martin DBS (James Bond's Whip)

7. Mazda Taiki Concept (Most Radical Concept Ever?)

8. Porsche 911 GT2 (Most Powerfull 911 from Porsche)

9. Vector Avtech WX-8 HPV (Revival of the outrageous)

10. Gumpert Apollo Sport (See one on Bullrun 2008)

i like the HSV concept , needs a slightly more aggresive front in my opinion but still nice for 02

i think the Holden drivers here are ok, its just a small minority ,

Thanks mate ... you're right.

I'm a Holden man through and through, below is my garage as it sits today;

I have placed a deposit with Nissan for an R35 as I think it's pretty much the ultimate car. I have posted this fact on the LS1 forum and haven't seen many disagree with me. Basically all the Holden nuts are agreeing, this car is absolutely sensational.

That doesn't mean that Holden's don't have their merits ... that are bloody good cars in a lot of ways.

    • looking forward to your t56 swap man its a game changer if it works!
    • So, when are you trying the new GR86 or BRZ?
    • Uncle Duncan Yeap, FI Interchiller  Works well, normal IAT's cruising with the WTA only went from 50°c+ to 25-30°c with the interchiller  Before, when on it hard, the IAT would see 80-90°c, now, the highest has been was around 38°c IIRC IAT is measured under the blower hat I recommend it for the street or strip where your only on it hard for 10 or so seconds, but it wouldn't be efficient for sustained track use as it would heat soak from the AC turning off or whatever it does during WOT to protect the compressor It really needs the AC running for it to not heat soak and keep the WTA coolant chilled My WTA coolant temps when just cruising is around 2°c
    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
