Head Gasket Problems

OK looks like the head gasket is gone on the 33. I have a few questions regarding the fix.

When torqueing up the head bolts, what rating do they have to be done to?

Do you need to use any gasket goo? It is a cork gasket.

Anyone got any advice? Any problems encountered?

Bad luck man.

You will have to have a look at the engine manual to determine what sequance the bolts need to be torqued in. As well as the recommended torque.

Depends what type of gasket you are going to use, either metal head gasket or a cheaper composite one. If you plan on making more power go with a metal head gasket, will be more costly tho. From what I know you dont use any gasket material when replacing the gasket. Most head gasket manufacturers recommend not using any gasket material. Just need to make sure the block and head surfaces are clean. Get the head shaved, can get them done for around $60.

It is a cork gasket.

We used some gasket goo on my big block using cork head gaskets.

Does anyone have a repair manual for r33's? I dont have 1 and thought someone here might know the correct torque figure for the head bolts.
