Removing Seat With Airbags

If i remove seat and unplug the air bag sensor will the airbag go off?

I guess one could unplug the battery first but has anyone done this on a twin airbag model eg.96 gtst

the last thing i want is my airbag going off

are there sensors in the seat? i always thought those plugs in the seat were for seatbelt lights. or are you removing the seats and then unpluging the bag sensor to remove a steering wheel? or are you unpluging the sensor to remove the seats? im confused...ha

i thought the air bags is linked to the seat belt somehow ??

i know its a stupid thought :laughing-smiley-014: but its my first dual airbag car

That'll just be the plug for the seat belt sensor. (activates light on dash if weight is on the seat and seatbelts not on)

front air bag sensors are mounted just near your radiator and will only set the air bag off when crushed by completing a circuit inside i would asume.

if your still stressed about your airbag just disconnect your battery. Its takes a voltage to set the airbags off.

well thanks for the answer to the noob question ,I guess its better to ask than look silly with a airbag in my face hehe
