Hey Guys,

I need a little help, my Air Flow Meter in my Skyline is playing up. My Car has been intermittently dropping boost randomly and then running into limp home mode after it happens. I can turn my engine off and then on again and the problem disappears.

My Mechanic has identified the AFM to be the problem, and I've confirmed this by swapping with my brothers.

Does anyone know if a Nismo AFM will work in a R33 Series 2 with Stock ECU?

Thanks

I believe you will need to have your ecu remapped to suit different AFM... main benefit with the nismo afm is that is same size as stock AFM.

Alternatively resoldering and/or cleaning the AFM often fixes up problems with old AFMs.

As above, the Nismo AFM is essentially a Z32 AFM in a standard size casing so you will need a Power FC or remap to suit.

Bugger, I've only got a Stock ECU. I think my mechanic oiled my pod filter about 6 months back. Sucking down the oil must have forked it. Not sure how I can clean the oil out of it.

hi,

i think you may be confused or getting mixed up. the only nismo afm's i know of are the 65mm GTR ones

your standard afm for the GTST is 80mm so you wont have a 65mm nismo one on there, that would make no sense

you probably just have a standard afm, take a photo of it please and post it up, be sure to get a photo of the label on the afm as the colour helps us identify what afm you are using. if its just the stock one (Blue or pink) then you can grab any R33 afm (matching colour) and youll be fine - no ecu or tricks needed

here is a table of the common AFM's and what they look like - which one does your car have ?
