hi guys how yas goin, i have just purchased a genuine 300+600+100mm trust fmic along with the piping for my r32 gtr, the mods i have to the car is an apexi pwc, turbo bak exhaust(hks dumpies, bee-r front pipes and custom 3inch cat back, straight pipes all the way through and full stainless steel), i got the hks pod filters, the adjustable greddy cam sprocket kit and also got the blitz spec r dual solenoid boost controller running about 13psi, well i had the older blitz version but was playing up and boost was spiking so have purchassed a brand new newer version boost controller but not yet installed, im just about to get the cooler put on, it has just under 240kw at the 4s at the moment on 13psi, what will be the gain with this cooler and would i need to get it tuned again,

any information will be really helpful and thankful ofcourse :whistling: ,

cheers guys

It should run fine without a re-tune and save your self a couple of hundred $$$ but if you want to get the most out of it then you need a tune. I say extra 15-30hp atw your limited to your turbos and other mods. If you got steel blade, ball bearing turbos then yes do a full re-tune you will get alot more. good luck let us know your results if you decide to.

i still got the standard r32 gtr turbos, they are not steel whel but yes i will let you know for sure mate, dominic from protek will tel me if i need 1 because i want to get it running at its best, and how bout in sound wise, like how will it sound, will it sound better with it

Likely no power gain, at most <5 hp. The standard GTR front mount is good for 300awkw. You won't be making that much on standard turbos, therefore no gain.

Sorry dude.

nar thats okay bro, but its better if i get modifications later on you know what i mean, my car is mostly stock bro, theres no major mods to it, like turbos, injectors , pump and the rrest of the shit im going to do in the next 5-6months so i think that i have done something good by purchasing this cooler, true??

if you already have the FMIC and are going to get it installed anyways, why don't you just see for yourself... Its not like your saying should I buy and install this.

don't worry about the tune yet, just adding a different front mount isn't really worth getting a re-tune...

yeah a 1000HP fmic... right... bro... yep thats sarcasim...

nar ive got the standard gtr cooler on it but upgrading to the trust fmic, like its coming here hopefuly tomorow , yer your rite i think i wont worry about the tune as yet, im getting poncams n shit put in hopefully this month so i wrecken i will leave it till den, after i get the poncams put in i will definently need a tue im assuming

well yuor saying no power gain but another is saying it will help me by 15-30hp at wheels

more likely to do with dyno difference than anything.

Stock GTR coolers are good for 350rwkw without a problem

Sooo many people still running them, so they must work quite fine

if your going to do "the rest of the shit" then why don't you wait install it all in one go and then get re-tuned... otherwise your wastin money really...

so your replacing a perfectly good FMIC for an aftermarket, why bother...

bro because it hold more power, true or not bro, a gtr cooler hold about 300kw at all 4s but im aiming for more then that bro, so i think the trust will do the job, the trus cooler came off a gtr pushing about 450kw at the treads so thats pretty serious power there, and by the way i wanted to also ask you guys about what poncams i should get, well i lovee the rough idle to the gtr but wat degree poncams will give me that real rough idle, i dont want to put procams because i then have to change alot of bulshit but wat dgree poncams should i get, im also going for tomei..

Stock Cams and cam gears... thats what a number of the faster GTR's here in Melb are running.

And then its totally dependant on the turbo/head setup, purpose of car etc etc.

If you want things just for "sounds" then you should have purchased a VL :P

Only purchase and install performance parts that will give performance gains.

And that means researching and reading a lot of the info on this forum, and spending probably 20k. bro.

if your aiming for more than 450kw maybe you should like get serious instead of asking questions look at what other people have done... sorry if I seem harsh but I'm so over younger people not researching simply just wanting answers, but anyway it sounds like your more into what your car sounds like than what it is capapble of, FMIC - will it sound good... poncams - will it sound good...

If I want to know something I just research... there is so much information on this site all you have to do is search, read and learn... I never thought I would say this but "young kids these days, pffff"

and yeah I reckon you wasted money on the 'TRUST' fmic.....

Stop saying bro, I don't know you...

damn nismoid beat me to it...

Take it easy mate - he's just trying to be honest with ya. :P

If you are seriously aiming for big power, what I would do is hold onto the cooler for now and not install it just yet. Reasons as follows -

a) You won't gain any power just yet, and you might actually loose a little throttle response.

b) You can sell it easily if you need the cash all of a sudden

c) When you get some bigger turbos, injectors etc you can install them all at once and get everything tuned in one hit to save money.

Cheers.

Take it easy uleh. The reality is you've tanked your cash if you're expecting a performance increase.

But it's your cash, do what you want. BTW bro, mait is spelt mate.
