i got the group buy rda rotors, just want to make 100% sure i have them on the right way

are they meant to look like this

http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/General...brakekit343.jpg

That is the drivers side front wheel

so the grooves go like that or the other way?

how sure are you?

the RDA ones from the group buy i am talking about

so the way the slots go they 'cut' into your rotors rather than lean away from them

someone else can confirm?????????????? (this may be my squealing problem..prob not tho)

I dont think the slot orientation will make much difference, but the vane orientation will (to cooling). Make sure they're pushing air from the center out when you're going forward.

Squealing will probably be a pad installation issue. There's plenty of posts on how to cure it. Hail Mr Searchy for assistance.

done a million seaches and no help to my problem (look in sig for thread)

vanes are on the inside on the rotor isnt it?

Yep vanes are on the inside between the braking surfaces.

I'll take a quick look at the other thread.

It depends on how the cooling vents are constructed as to how the slots appear. Yours are how mine appear (hub to outer edge), but mine are DBAs. I have seen others where the slots face the other direction (outer edge to hub). The rotors should have been labeled LEFT and RIGHT.

yes they were labeled and im sure i got them the right way but now i am having second thoughts

NYtSKY what brand are your rotors?

i dont know how to tell by the vanes, you can barely see between the rotor

If they have curved vanes then that getting them facing in the right direction is far more important than the direction of the slots.

front of car /////////////// rear of car

Vanes should be laid back towards the rear of the car like above. If not, the discs will not cool properly.

tek I'm not sure because I've never used the RDA rotors, and as others have said the direction of the vanes is the important bit. But every slotted disc I've seen except for the DBA runs opposite to your photo.

Just had a look at my GTR, my RDA rotors have the slot angling towards the rear of the car Rear \\\ Front.

Hope it helps.

Cheers

DBA 4000 series on my ford. And Project Mu on my R33.

This is the left front, Stoptech obviously.

And this is a RDA right rear.

Looks like different manufacturers have different ideas.
