hey guys, im new to the forums, and i just bought a r32 skyline and loving it anyway...

it needs a service, and being new to skylines i would like to know what i should change, and any special tricks to any of the below.

oil change: im thinking something along the lines of 10-40w synthetic, motul or royal purple?

oil filter: should i just get a genuine one, or just some repco one?

spark plugs: im thinking either platinum or iridiums? which one?

coolant: any special coolant i should buy?

flush radiator, ok i know the jist of it, but is there a write up on how to do it properly, like which heater lines to disconnect and if theres a special tit on the rb20 to get rid of air pockets?

should i change the fuel filter while im at it?

and finially how often should i change the box oil?

ps... anything else ive missed just let me know.

thanks in advance, issa.

That sound's right change oil, oil filter, spark plugs, coolant.

I been asking around what oil should i use in my GTR alot of people backed the motul 10-40w, So today i went out and brought it. So i rekkin you cant go wrong with getting motul.

yea. my cousin kinda forgot to put the oil filter seal on, and i turned on the car THATS A NO NO. well 50$ of oil down the drain, so the next day i looked franticly for ROYAL PURPLE. got it in 10-40 weighting and i love it, ive driven it hard and sat on the redline and it feels healthy, the engine seems to also drive alot nicer.

flushed the radiator, and damn that was dirty, still has a shit load of dirty/rust in it, treated it the best i could and put in the nulon, no over heating problems but the hot days to come should test that. but i have to say, even after it being driven hard it still didnt get hot at all so im impressed.

and im to broke for injectors so im saving for some. i went to advan while i was looking for some royal purple oil seeing there local, and one of the guys there cant remember there name recommended only getting platinum 6's. he said thats what they run in there 350rwkw skylines, so i think that might be the way to go as im not making half that.

i use:

motul turbo light 10-40w engine oil, works a treat!

ryco oil and fuel filters, they've never given me any issues.

as for spark plugs; the rb20 is fussy with spark plugs. a few friends and i found the NGK BKR7E to be the best for the rb20, and are only a couple dollars each. i also tried the NGK BCPR7E but didn't like those, they caused slight misfiring. i have a set of NGK platinums that i brought a while back, which i wasted a good $110 for as they are completely crap and kept misfiring. if you do decide to go with the BKR7E, make sure not to get the BKR7E-11 as they're a 1.1mm gap and will get blown out during boost. it's trial and error with spark plugs.

any high rating radiator coolant will do fine.

and redline shockproof for the gearbox.

make sure to change engine oil and oil filter every 5,000km, fuel filter and spark plugs every 10,000km.

my2c! :)
