ok i know a few of you are unclear as to wats going on with regards to the auto salon

but please note that we are discussing and organising everything that needs to be done

and u will all be informed in due time

a meeting is being arranged this week for all entrants

we are still waiting on cabin to get back to us with respect to our time slot in bringing the cars to the exhibition building for setting up of the stand.

in my opinion .. best time would be around late afternoon

3pm ish to avoid peak hour traffic and the mad evening rush for evevery other club trying to get their cars in.

Last year it took nearly 3 hours to get the cars in and the line was well going right around the exhib centre

so the earlier the better!!!

anyways details will be posted up and also sent to those involved

any questions concerning MAS please direct to either james and james ( jamezilla and whistla) or myself

thank you

amber

cool - I know several good car washes

One in south road moorabin [next to Harvey Norman] - the owner is a nice bloke too! He would love the bizness...

It has approximately 5 wash bays plus several vacuum stations...

i went past one last night on the way to a friends place in oakliegh (long way from my western home)

It was on the corner of Warrigal Rd and something else...

Not far from oakliegh.

It had about 8 bays from what i could see.

Maybe there were more?

that'd be a good place i think. it was a big place.

miles away from mine, but hey. i dun care.

yes. about 5 mins from the maccas it is... back towards the Nepean HWY.

Once a time/place is set for this meeting on thurs then will decide when we wash the cars! Whether it be before or after.

there will be no confusion or disorganisation on that point.

i'll make sure of it :D

MAS Meeting on Thurs

OK - sorry for delay.

Thusday night meeting for all MAS entrants, helpers and everyone else. This will be a dinner (something healthy and gourmet - like pizza) and we'll have stickers, t-shirts and maybe a raffle for sale!

We'll go through all the info about the show with everything (hopefully) being finalised over these next couple of days.

Cabin are sending me some $3 off entry vouchers for those not exhibiting :D

I was initially thinking Sophias in Camberwell (1/2 way between Eastern & Monash FWY with plenty of parking) but other ideas are welcome - maybe Lygon St (thinking pizza here).

Let me know ideas for venue and I'll book a table - or two :D

Ash: Not sure about the guest pass.

I heard it mentioned - but can't find info on the Cabin site. Will call.

Good point about Lygon.

Maybe Docklands? Restaurant prices are still pretty reasonable down there (Lounge Room is not bad) - lots of parking and space to spread out.

Trying to think of somewhere central - with pizza :D

Stuffit!

Just make it Camberwell.

It's still miles away from me... but at the end of the day...

If it doesn't get set in concrete soon no-one will rock up!

Then we can all make cruise out of it and go down to the carwash if people wanna do something afterwards

Otherwise they can go their own ways!

Ambz/mods... update the first post please OR ... start a new thread and lock this one ?

Nah its huge enought to accomodate for plenty of people

Nice little joint too, usually go there every wednesday to catch up with mates.

Anyways what time and day is this hapenning? Thursday?

Hey Im a newbie but you know im down!!

Might hit the scene and make and appearance..

Big Weekend coming up!!

    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
    • Silly question, as I bet you've checked already, but the motor turns over by hand yes? I suspect Neil has a spare starter, though if not, I believe I have a spare R33 (or two) starter.
    • Yeah just run one of those posts to the Link like GTSBoy said. From google it looks like a "mishimoto boost controller" is a manual boost controller. Since you already have the link just buy any MAC valve and plumb it in where the mishimoto is now. Wires to the solenoid should come from the Link's / standard loom boost control wiring (I guess you have an r32, not sure if it is gtst or gtr, if it is GTR where is a 2 pin connector near the engine bay fuse box/injector resistor for that purpose, assuming the standard boost controller is gone)
    • No. The ECU's hose is for a connetcion between the plenum (assuming single throttle body, not ITBs) and the ECU's internal MAP sensor. This is the primary load measurement of the ECU - so you need to get this one right. This has NOTHING to do with the boost contol. The wastegate also needs to see a boost signal - but it is actually far better for it NOT TO COME FROM THE PLENUM (again, assuming single TB, and not ITBs). This should come from the turbo's compressor housing (assuming there is a nipple on there, which there might well not be), or on the boost pipe somewhere between the turbo and the TB. On the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler is usually most convenient. The boost controller is then located between that boost source and the wastegate, ACCORDING TO THE CORRECT PLUMBING DRAWING FOR THAT BOOST CONTROLLER. There is no general diagram or instruction that will be correct for every case. Then the other ports on the plenum are for purposes such as Duncan described. If the boost controller has an internal MAP sensor, for a boost display, etc, then it will want to be hooked up there, alongside the ECU and the FPR.
    • Ok gotcha, so one post to fpr  another to bov  and I have the mishimoto boost controller and a link g4+ so I’d just have the tuner set it up properly. For the last two from plenum post throttle to  ecu/ boost controller, I know that I have a hose coming from the ecu that I was confused about so I assume that’s what connect to the boost controller from the ecu? And then the last is just from plenum to boost controller then to wastegate?
